Once again, management is laughing all the way to the bank.
What a joke.

What a joke.
They started laughing when we tried to sell them on the pancake retirement plan outside of section 6 negotiations.

I think they laughed more when the pilot group didn't show the testicular fortitude to stand up for an increase over the past 20 + years. How we increase the A Plan formulaic wise isn't all that big of a deal to me. Getting the increase is what I have my eye on. I guess we all have an opinion and you know what they say about opinions......... The good thing is me and you have equally weighted ability to show how we feel. Its called one vote. So when we actually have something to vote on then we can exercise that power. Until then give feedback per the proper sources.

Ha and people on here thought it was so good for the company, turns out it wasn't so they declined. So many experts, yet all behind the keyboard.

Never said anything about destroying anything. Accountability is not destruction. I'm looking to improve all our lives through a better contract '21ish.

Warning Possible sarcasm ahead!

Now about that elusive formula: Could it have variables something like, credit hours scheduled, credit hours flown, block hours scheduled block hours flown (and if there was say a union committee that worked with our schedules where we could find these answers), then, air freight ton miles scheduled and flown, (maybe there is some group at ALPA who could see those reports), and If maybe there was a group at say ALPA national that could read a 10K, and finally a group at ALPA national that could calculate our total compensation. Could we then figure out this equation with simple math?

Every pilot does get one vote, I would like to see them exercise that right BEFORE openers are penned, after openers are passed, it may be harder to change directions.

I also agree we all need to talk to our reps more and let them know how we feel and what we will support.

Also, would the company stop laughing and take us seriously if we became more unified, worked together and participated more?

A better question is Do YOU (or your actions) speak for ALPA.

The amount of communication, outreach, surveys over the past few years has been unprecedented.

Perfect world we'll be opening negotiations prior to our Amendable date. Working to improve our CBA. The often forgotten reality is that we have 5k+ pilots, all of whom have different opinions as to where the breakdown of improvements should lie. The big Pie of $$ should be 40% deferred, 60% salary. No, it should be 90% in my hands and only 10% deferred. No, main focus should be on Retiree health care....fix that and more people will retire at 60.

So, when we're approaching the 1 year anniversary of our amendable date, what are Your Actions going to be saying to FedEx. Are they going to be saying you're happily making more money by Not Protecting min days off; by Training on Days off; by selling back Vacation Dec 31st.
Are you going to plus up your BLG every month by 18CHs? Are you going to suddenly start blocking your Calendar so no one can see just how many days you're actually working for FedEx every month?

Are you going to defend yourself by saying...Well, the Union hasn't told me not to. (Note-the Union Can't tell you that until and unless we're released after an impasse. And important safety tip, if you get PO'd that your Capt or FO is flying a hell of a lot and you confront them. Or confront them over all of the DPs they picked up...they might just report you to the Company and then you're a hostage or enjoying some unpaid time at home)

For me,
100% ALPA speaks for me.
But they don't have the final word in the conversation with the company.

There's eventually going to be a TA, and please, please take the time to actually read it.

It's all too apparent that far too many people never even bother reading our current CBA. Never figure out when they can say NO to FedEx. When they get extra $$.
FedEx is all too happy to keep all of the various extra $$ that people don't ask for.

On most of this I would agree IF we could have Local Council Meetings, which ALPA and the SRSRC says no to due to covid with no Alternate Means of Compliance. With no way to hold our reps accountable if they are not doing the job we demand, this is problematic.

Weren’t they supposedly working on changing policy to allow local council meetings over the internet? Maybe I’m was dreaming but thought I read something about it being on the next executive council meeting agenda?

Were you previously a block rep?

Nope, ALPA national said no to virtual Local Council Meetings again (the third attempt I believe). It seems it is going to stay that way for the duration. Are you okay with that? Let your reps know, it is the only way this changes.
