When you manipulate your schedule and then pick up OT trips over yellow/red days your are helping the company! Those days are red and yellow for a reason, staffing low on those days. Even if you are “just getting back to guarantee”. Fly your line and thats it. Make some sacrifices! If you are not willing to sacrifice then you are the problem.

Last contract I held strong turning down every draft trip I got called for only to have the union sell and force a contract down my throat. The same union which is now trying to shove a **** pancake plan down my throat. The same union and plan guys like Nowolk are supporting. Guess what, I won’t fly any extra but I will fly my BLG, whether it’s at straight time of if it conflicts for any reason I will fly it at 1.5 period. And yes I do protect min days off to avoid flying extra because I enjoy my days off.

This thread is a little scary. It can be used as evidence by management that we are not negotiating in good faith. Yes, we should be a unified group and stand up for what we have earned, but discussing in any forum, especially a public forum, to change the behavior of the pilot group during negotiations is not smart.
I have been at airlines where management used posts by pilots not only for personal punitive action but also to threaten to sue the union as a whole for illegal work action.
When we individually choose not to pick up draft or Ava it does send a mess to management but posting about doing it weakens our position. And as someone mentioned about Atlas, if each pilot simply makes the decision on their own to change their behavior and not pickup extra flying during negotiations even that can be viewed by a judge as not negotiating in good faith as we are expected to maintain the status quo during negotiations. That’s not to say that I agree with people bending over backwards for the company, but we are expected to continue doing so if we have been doing it prior to negotiations.
I really want to know what the NC is pushing for on our behalf but I also think any public discussion of negotiations or work actions weakens our position. I hate to say it because I too am worried about the A plan and scope, but we all need to shut up in these forums and let the NC do it’s job. If you want your voice heard then get involved, show up at the rally today, email or call your reps, and VOTE.

Nowolk, so you’re say if a pilot bid to conflict, then doesn’t make it up in the view add window so as to keep his calendar clear, then accepts AVA, Draft or Volunteer equating to his/her BLG he is helping the company? Nah bro I see it as them flying their BLG at 1.5 helping themselves and not the company. They would have to fly their BLG anyway, now they’re doing at a heavy cost to the company

The company could give two craps less about the little extra cost. You are solving a problem for them when they are out of options. Thats why they draft or offer AVA. They don't offer those things when they have reserves to cover it. Stop twisting facts trying to justify fixing issues for the company. If you justify draft for one situation then everyone can justify it for every situation.
I recently turned down a 80hr draft trip. I don’t fly extra but I will fly my BLG whether at straight or 1.5. It does matter because it’s BLG and not a day or second more

Everybody has their own version of fly your line. For some, flying 30 hours of carryover plus a full BLG the next month is just fine. Their seniority allows it…but the guy who trades a 6 hour trip for another 6 hour trip to clean up a schedule is the bad guy to them….mmmkay. Some fly the same number of work days on their awarded line. Local Memphis dudes always advocate not deviating and only fly the scheduled DH. Regardless, the loudest folks telling you what to do with your schedule are advocating a method that doesn’t impact them. “If everybody else sacrifices, we will get a contract faster.” The more they beat their chest the less the more they are full of 💩
it’s interesting how he/they don’t go after the senior guys for getting rid of their trips via TPU since pick up from others is apparently bad.
the fact he-they started this thread on 11/5 and it is so damning to the pilot group gives it a Guy Fawkes gunpowder treason plot feel. Very cute. Beware.

exactly. The instigator here is the great divider. This thread will be scrutinized and examined. which is his goal.
