Default Wake up. Its time

Buddy sent me this union communication yesterday. Well written and tells us to wake up and step up. Its time to say enough is enough and stop going above and beyond.

November 3, 2021

As many of you are aware, our negotiating team has been bargaining with the Company for the past six months. November 1st saw the CBA amendable date come and go. We signed a protocol agreement with the goal of achieving a ratified CBA by the end of May 2022. Note the term “BY THE END” —meaning no later than! Nothing in the protocol agreement precludes the negotiations from being done prior to May 2022. To achieve the goal of keeping the bargaining timetable on track certain sections need to be completed in order to move on to the larger economic sections. As of today, only one section has been tentatively agreed upon by the parties: Section 26. While matching up the timeline with the number of sections to be TA’d isn’t necessarily an “apples for apples” measurement, it is clear we should begin to see various Quality-of-Life sections showing a TA in order to achieve a complete TA by the end of May. You have received updates from the Negotiating Committee stating that the Company is retreading proposals from previous bargaining cycles. Does this sound like a Company who is coming to the bargaining table ready to achieve this GOAL 6 months into negotiations?
Don’t let the Company convince you that they cannot afford to pay you for your contributions to its fiscal success. From FY2021 financial reports, one can see that the Company had a consolidated revenue of close to $84 billion dollars. In FY2020, the Company had $69 billion in consolidated revenue. A 22% percent increase year-over-year. The margins in the express segment increased from 2.8% to 6.7% —more than doubling! Many analysts expect revenue to approach or exceed $90 billion in FY2022. As stated in a previous earnings call, FedEx expects long-term growth powered by the rise of global e-commerce.
You need to ask yourself: What portion of the revenue and profit growth has been achieved due to your efforts to support the Company while under egregious working conditions? Conditions such as invasive testing, hotel isolation, poor or inedible food and hotel rest facilities, trip revisions and extensions, extended duty day after extended duty day, evacuations, etc. You have endured many obstacles over the past few years due to COVID, but you kept the freight moving! You persevered and you GOT THE JOB DONE!
The amendable dated has passed—we are now working under an amendable contract. We need you to stand up and be counted. Now is the time to show UNITY. Now is the time to tell the Company to step up and provide the retirement, pay and quality of life we have earned. Now is the time to tell the Company we will not accept stall tactics or subpar offers at the bargaining table. Now is the time for FedEx to show us the respect we deserve. NOW IS THE TIME!

LOL a 'buddy sent it to you' because you don't work at FedEx - you just keep proving it with your own words.

No, its a council comm not my council. Not to be snarky but you should know we all don't get council comms if it isn’t our council. Does this prove your level of engagement and knowledge?!!!!

You get it!!! Instead we get the “notorious posters” who lob complaints constantly deflecting the message. Maybe they are part of that Memphis draft club you speak of. Heck they don’t even understand that council comms don’t go to all pilots. Shows their level of involvement…..

Wowwwww. You just completely proved your level of knowledge. Are you aware that we all don't get every other councils comms? This made you look really poor and disengaged for a guy who thinks he knows so much.

We don’t get other councils comms but you can find all of them in the FDX ALPA website. You don’t need a buddy to forward them to you to read them. Just fyi

Yea, but trying to find your ALPA login and trying to remember FDX.ALPA.ORG is hard. And if you can't remember your login, now you have to hit the I forgot my password button, that's hard too.

Try it this way, if you don't get involved, you are leaving 10s of thousands of dollars a year, for the rest of your life, on the table. Try telling your significant other that you are just too busy worry about that. Please let us know how it goes!

It’s even harder if you don’t work at FedEx.
