Should clarify, "successful and growing" in my book meant not furloughing. But yes, I understand that may not be the same definition to those that were under 4A2b.

Definitely not, but I feel as it’s more rare than people make it out to be. But the key is you obviously have the PIC time. The FOs who went right seat RJ to Big 3 cannot apply to FedEx. Or the FOs who went right seat RJ to right seat LCC/ULCC including SW cannot apply to FedEx. And I know of RJ FOs who went right seat straight to SW. But In a sense the PIC requirement, currently in this job market, keeps away the people who don’t really want FedEx.

Our new hire class breakdowns over the past 12 months say otherwise.

Agreed, every new hire class has pilots from the legacies and major airlines. Usually you’ll see delta, aa and United in each class just like this most recent one.

you’re right it is not good for FedEx…but I think history has proven we’re more stable than pax.

Default Any chance for an old guy

Hi Gents,

After years of applying, today I was contacted to begin the application process. But I'm getting up there in age, 54. No military experience, but 13 yrs on the 777, 8 from the left seat, 15 yrs total heavy cargo time working for 2 international airlines.

My successful assessments in the past have all been multi-day in person events. This kind of process is new to me. I've read the threads, but could anyone provide additional insights?

Feel free to fire away as well if its out of the realm of possibilities....

Thanks

Hey guys curious, how easy is it to get ANC as a base?

Thanks!

It all depends on what the company has available for each new hire class. Generally, ANC goes junior and there is a lot of movement out of the base. If you don’t get it as a new hire you’ll get it in the next bid.

I can’t help you with your questions, but your age made me think of asking the group how many 50+ year olds have been hired historically? I’m 50 and interested. I have a four-year degree. 10k plus hours. Currently a Cit X Captain at a 135.

Plenty of folks hired in the "older" category. From indoc pictures I've seen, age will not hinder your hiring chances at FedEx. Best of luck!
