I WOULD NOT WASTE MONEY ON DAY 1 PREP! Period. The RST is a 400$ money grab and only 2-3 people have failed the new cog test. You’re not supposed to be able to pass it. Don’t waste your money on it. Also I heard Tito (RST) got fired from FedEx and failed his interview with AA. I think he’s just trying to scare people into thinking you need it, but you DONT!
That being said, Spitfire is WAYYY BETTER than ECIC. I did both and the customer service, zoom mocks and SBI evals were soo much better then ECIC. The guys at spitfire work at FedEx. Jay moss (ECIC) doesnt. SF even just launched an app for your phone and a community forum to ask questions and trip reports.

Tito got fired because his prep at RST was so close to the real thing management thought it was undermining the process. Who cares what happened to him at AA.. RST probably also still probably has up to date interview gouge.
Also, like another poster said ECIC was absolutely started by a current FedEx pilot. Glad to hear there’s another decent option out there now with Spitfire. I agree that they were resting on their laurels a little too much.

FedEx Hiring 2022
I bet those 2-3 guys that failed day 1 sure wish they had prepped better. $400 is NOTHING when considering your potential career earnings. Use the prep service and sleep soundly knowing that you didn’t cheap out and try to save $400 the night before your interview.

RST was no help for the current Day 1 online event.
I used ECIC and felt over prepared. I don’t know if some of these posters have actually used ECIC recently, because I found some of the info in this thread straight up wrong. All sessions were done via Zoom and were very tailored, the CRM event in particular was awesome. They have a bunch of Fedex pilots on their staff. Their customer service was awesome, I had a simple question about my background that I was nervous about, and the CS lady had me on the phone with a coach within a day.
I’m sure both are fine. I thought about trying Spitfire, but the way they are so pushy in marketing themselves (like here) just felt, well….creepy. ECIC was recommended to me by a friend and I didn’t feel that same pushiness. Plus, they just have a longer track record, and that means something to me, but YMMV.

I would just ask people that have used both companies (I did). Everyone that I have talked to (that did both) said spitfire was better in every way. The instructors actually cared and spent extra time answering questions about purple life. I couldn’t even get an easy email answered by ECIC for WEEKS! If I am investing that much I want to be able to communicate with instructors in a timely manner.
Again, just saying that that was not my experience at all or that of any of my friends, and again this sounds mysteriously like a really aggressive Spitfire ad campaign.

I have 0 financial gain by pushing anyone to spitfire, i don’t know anyone that even works there, I just want people to have the best resources available to them to succeed.

no it’s more like an “ECIC is resting on their laurels” campaign. The interview team is tired of the ECIC drones, they will literally tell you that in the briefing that they give everyone before taking you out one at a time for your SBI or panel interview.

I also used RST but I am not sure how good it is now for the day one of interview. When I did mine we had to take JKT, Cog, and Pysch. They definitely helped me with the JKT and Cog part of the interview.

That was not your experience, yet you didn’t actually use their services? Got weirded out by some aggressive word-of-mouth advertising by happy clients? You sound like fun. Either that, or an ECIC counselor 😆

Before this continues into a very emotional “Coke vs Pepsi” type war (and I’ll fully disclose that yes, I actually DO work for ECIC), again EITHER COMPANY will get you there (to any airline, so maybe this doesn’t need to be exclusively in the FedEx section) with about the same probability. It’s all about YOUR effort. Both have generally the same success percentages, so at the end the objective data doesn’t make a case for one over the other.
As was stated before, the founder of Spitfire used to be an ECIC counselor, took the same prep fundamentals and packaged them differently, so he’s got a good foundation he’s working with. So it’s all about what you like. Coke, or Pepsi? One is a sweet cola drink, and the other is ………a newer sweet cola drink.
That said, there were some complaints thrown out here about ECIC that are definitely unacceptable and on appearance do not conform to our own internal expectations. I’d be happy to look into personally, just DM me.
As a rule:
-Training sessions are done via video conferencing, not on a “speakerphone.” If that happened to someone here as a one-off, I apologize. I know is sounds like you’ve moved on, but please send me the details over DM.
-Final one-on-one mock interview (topoff) can be over the phone or over video conference, but the customer has the final say on that.
-Customer Service: I can only apologize to those who had a bad experience over a year and a half ago when we had contracted like the airlines due to COVID. Not making excuses, because not having an email answered is a shame. I’ll only offer that we have made significant customer service changes since “bouncing back,” but I’m happy to personally look into any issues anyone had or is having here and make it right.
So again, not trying to argue which sweet cola drink tastes better, but I (we) all do this because we feel passionate about paying it forward, and to that end need to hear what’s not working.
