Expanding on your statement, if the Teamsters do go on strike, Nowork also doesn’t understand the argument customers will not only be sensitive to another work stoppage by the pilots (which we know is very difficult but it doesn’t matter for optics after a Teamsters strike), but that the Teamsters would sympathy strike as we would do for them. It’s all about optics and unity, what Nowork doesn’t understand. Fedex pilot group in itself appears to be very splintered within, not to mention there is no synergy of any kind between employee groups, heck a large % of workers aren’t even Fedex employees, no emotional of brand attachment, making it easier for the company to exploit individual groups.

following that path of knowing history, remember the AA strike of 97. It lasted all of a couple of hours. The railway labor act gives us or any other major airline no teeth. If we somehow went on strike or UPS went on strike it would last a couple of hours. The president, regardless of party affiliation, would sign an executive order putting us back to work before we even left AOC.

You made my point for me with that example. How long did it take in negotiations to get to that point in ‘97? Like I said it doesn’t move the timeline forward any further IMO.

Let me simplify this for you. The threat of UPS pilots going on strike is not nearly as problematic for UPS as the threat of UPS pilots going on strike AND hundreds of thousands of UPS drivers, couriers, and other employees ALSO going on strike with them.

Well, here it is, August 24th, 2022. We began negotiations sessions 6 months prior to the amendable date of our CBA with very limited goals, goals which were chosen BECAUSE they could be achieved in a short time frame. We began be agreeing to a negotiations schedule to take us 6 months beyond that amendable date, and still The Company managed to stall, delay, and drag their feet while making insulting and embarrassing proposals. All along we were told by the Negotiating Committee and the MEC that our goals were achievable, but we played along with the delay, stall, and drag the feet dance by scheduling even more sessions.
Today was the last session.
Has anybody seen the TA?
Sure, we had one picketing event that showed less than enthusiastic support. We've had a few free food events with bouncy houses and climbing walls. We've been fed a continuous diet of "we're still on track" communications, so there has been no need for the average line pilot to worry themself about how to support the effort.
So, what are we going to do now? Eh, maybe we'll attend the virtual FedEx Stockholders Meeting Monday, September 19, at 8AM CDT. That'll show `em.
For the life of me I cannot understand why our MEC is not hosting at least 1 picketing event in Memphis on September 1st when EVERY ALPA pilot should be demonstrating our determination and will to achieve a contract we have earned and deserve, and further demonstrate our solidarity with our brother and sister pilots in our LABOR UNION just before LABOR DAY. One excuse I heard is that with our June picketing event our calendar is too crowded. Oh, really? Didn't Delta have an informational picketing event just a couple of days after ours? Are they using a different calendar that allows them to show up on Sep 1?
Our SPSC Chair has challenged us to all attend at least one picketing event for another airline. I don't see how every FedEx pilot living in Memphis could possibly travel to one of the scheduled picketing locations for the Sep 1 event, but I know I'll be driving to Atlanta the night before to stand shoulder to shoulder with my brothers and sisters at Delta. My Block Rep will be on a trip.
Where will you be?

I think this thread was about the FedEx TA.
End of August - pat scheduled negotiation sessions are behind us. Guess we have no TA. Might be time to start “holding the line”.
my rep hasn’t heard a thing. Anyone else?

Hopefully we'll get some sort of update today. It's all gonna be status quo for me until there's a TA that I plan on voting yes on....

Agree. The only update I need is when we get a TA that meets the openers goals. Specifically pay/retirement. Until then I will continue to “Hold The Line”. Seems like a fairly simple concept.
