I previously did volunteer committee work at another major prior to FDX. Currently family life won’t allow a large sacrifice of time while commuting. This is why I trust the GROUP who does volunteer to make all these decisions. I understand from my union experience that a large GROUP sits down and debates and discusses these large decisions prior to any action. As someone referred to earlier, policy dictates most of it.

Why are you so caught up on this briefing? When I did committee work, everything wasn’t briefed every single day. Some people on that committee had the decision making power on certain subjects and this was defined in the policy manual.

Did you try to recall volunteers as the poster above stated? I sure hope this is not true. During Covid I think this union has done an excellent job with agreements and MOU’s that have threaded the needle on a very tough situation. I have gained immensely from the sick bank protection. We also don’t have forced vaccinations. How about giving some credit? Instead you look for the negative and make accusations. Are you just the type that has to always find a negative angle? The grass is always greener on the other side type? I sure hope you cheer up a bit.

Ask them if the MEC voted to allow more sessions to be added past Sept 1 and when that vote took place. Then you can tell us how it really happened.

Strawman…I’m saying this isn’t the way things happen. Communications happening ALL the time between ALL of them. Most communications don’t happen in an official meeting.

I assume you meant that to be an ad hominem attack. You do know, I'm certain, that whatever I've done in the past, good or bad, has no bearing on what is transpiring now and is irrelevant to the claims you're making. If you can't make your points on their merits, maybe you should re-examine what you believe to be facts.

I have talked to reps and volunteers. And like I wrote above, not all communications happen during formal MEC meetings.

P.S. I think you meant Red Herring.

Your reply never stated what your rep told you happened after Sept. 1. Did you actually ask them about that, or was your comment more of a general statement?

Fixed it for you.

If you think that when we opened negotiations is the same as the amendable date, you truly aren't paying attention to our contract or the messages from the union.

You either have a reading comprehension problem or you truly lack integrity and moral fiber. You know that the name isn't the issue. No one said that we didn't open negotiations before the amendable date, which, by the definition you gave, is an early opener even if it is one day before the amendable date. What this has been about is you telling others not to fly draft and AVA while we are in negotiations when you did it yourself. You stated that the last draft trip you did before this past June was in Nov, 2021. I pointed out that we had been in negotiations since May of 2021 and that if you were flying draft during that time, you were doing the same thing you have been complaining about others doing. That is the definition of hypocrisy! So now you move the goal post and say it is about the name. I don't care what you call it, it still doesn't change the fact that those were actual negotiations under Section 6. Those negotiations didn't magically change substance in Nov 2021. Try to spin it however you like, but you are a hypocrite!

It was general. We know there hasn’t been an MEC meeting. So we know there hasn’t been any official communications between the MEC and the NC. But my point is that information flows at all times between meetings. I’ve spent enough time around reps and NC members to know these type of things don’t happen in a vacuum. And since the MEC hasn’t mandated a change in direction, then we must conclude they are good with current proceedings.

And that's how we know you don't work here.
