Jumpseating is for pilots - Period!
#1
We have the most effed up jumpseating rules in the industry. Why the f* does a mechanic/goc employee get the same priority as a pilot in the jumpseat? How can they book as business BP4? They are staging at most to commute to work. Multiple times I’ve been denied a jumpseat cause a mechanic is commuting to work! The jumpseat is for pilots period. What the f* is our union doing agreeing to this BS! Jumpseats should be pilots only and based on seniority, seniority, seniority like very other airline!

I beg to differ! I have absolutely no issue with other employee groups JumpSeating. Now if you want to claim that pilots has priority on the actual Flight Deck JumpSeat then I may be inclined to agree with you. As far as seats in the back, if other employees book before you, then they should get priority.
seats in the cockpit! There is no distinction, but if you worked here you’d know that. But who the f* cares what you think troll!

Mechanics are just as important to this operation as pilots and I have no problem taking them to work.
I'd rather see this "captain's permission" to list BS go away.
If the captain is that much of a delta bravo to deny me, let him do it in person instead of ignoring the email sent by freebird.

You and your arrogance, I sure do work here. A difference in opinion doesn’t mean someone doesn’t work at the company. Like I said I think pilots should have priority for Flight Deck JS, anything else should be fair game.

I disagree with your other points as a matter of opinion, but this is just straight up false. JS priority is NOT based on seniority at ‘every other airline’. Most are based on time of listing/time of check in, just like us.

Delta is time of check in FCFS for the FDJ, cabin is seniority. I believe a Delta pilot can book it like we do if it’s a mainline A/C.
AA is time of check in (FCFS) for the cabin and FDJ. Mainline pilots can reserve the jump on mainline A/C but within their D2WP status I believe they’re still subject to checking in 24 hours prior.
UPS is a bookable jumpseat just like we have, but they get bumped from time to time considering how much they deadhead on brown tails.
What the OP said about the mechanics being BP4 is an entirely different issue, but seniority is NOT the answer here or anywhere.
