This ain't easy.
What we are going through here ain't easy. I for one will not forget the insults after a deal is reached. Objectively, it's fascinating to watch the human reaction play out and see how individuals handle the adversity. Numerous well respected elders have topped their career by publicly supporting the May TA. Sad how easy it is to break down unity, an art which has been practiced by powerful people and institutions for millenia. Maybe current events will lead to booting ALPA off property and joining forces with UPS. In such a case we could take a hard look at longevity and health span, or perhaps some of us would prefer to remain in the dark. Sadly, the fatigue committee at ALPA is in bed with the company and not in our corner when it comes to getting proper recovery and taking care of ourselves. ALPA is hiding data from us and this being the only organization we have, gets us nowhere.

no need for fatigue data. swing by Barnes and noble….they have plenty of books on just how terrible it is to stay up all night. even a quick google search will tell you just how bad it is for our bodies to constantly shift your circadian rhythm. every time we do it, we damage our bodies. I’d ask the same question those at AA are asking themselves….is it an ALPA issue…or needing to push out deeply rooted cultural issues on an MEC level. |

Maybe you forget the many pilots, not just elders who flew their butts off during negotiations. When you look at that as a senior guy, you realize no one cares about anything but themselves. So, Senior guys voted for a TA that benefited them. Not hard to figure out when the rest of the pilot group is whoring themseleves out during negotiations. It doesn't matter who represents us, its the resolve of the group. And when you have a group that has no clue as to collective bargaining and leverage, why would any pilot not vote for a TA that benefits them? And the, "All for Me" and who cares about anyone else has been pretty well demonstrated on this forum. So many posters here hating the senior guys who voted for a TA that did have a benefit for them will be doing them same when the end of their career contract comes and they will want the same benefit.
lol do you not understand what an illegal work action is? I don’t disagree with your sentiment, but it’s tough to legally push back when pilots bend over for the company and don’t fly the contract. |

All of the pilots with consecutive months of 20+ days of trips, calling CRS begging to be extended, etc etc. So, they were paddling with the group? Just to be sure there was no perception of illegal job action? I’m sure the NC appreciated their efforts. I definitely did. |

There is plenty of leverage without being an illegal job action. If you need it explained then you are part of the huge problem here.
