It's about someone else listening to your BS on the flight deck and deciding to do the same thing.
It's about someone who can't clear their schedule as easily deciding to take the call from CRS when they see what you're doing.
It's about the simple fact that we were all supposed to be on the same side, pulling in the same direction willing to make the same sacrifices.

But we weren't. We had some (like you) who thought they were smarter. "Flying smarter" my @ss. Yeah you really stuck it to the company by "making" them pay you 150%. If you think they gave 2 sh!ts about that you're delusion. Price of doing business.
If that helps you sleep at night, great. You're not alone. Now all of you have the gall to complain about this TA? You deserve it. I can complain about the TA. You shouldn't. Thanks by the way.

And of course they wanted to change that in the TA, why not if they could get us to say "yes"? It's a fix to a pandemic corner case that, absent another pandemic, will likely never happen again.

This^^^^^

Yeah, vote down the TA and fight for what we are worth. Hollow words. Kind of like saying you'll give 110%. What that really means is that you weren't giving it your best to begin with, so now you will try a little harder. We didn't show any fight between openers and the amendable date. We didn't show any fight after the amendable date, But now, we really mean it and we are going to fight. Just words, no plan. Maybe they will sacrifice and give a little more of themselves instead of thinking only of themselves this time, but most likely not.

You mean, the MEC didn't show any fight. Perhaps that is why they were negotiating in secret and keeping us in the dark. It is an easy fix. New MEC with clear direction to keep us apprised every step of the way. If you think you can't get a better deal, you are right. If you think you can, you are right. You get to decide if you are a loser or a winner. The idea we have to accept any POS we are given is retarded.

Are you saying the MEC should ask the membership during negotiations when a section is TA'd, does the membership approve, section by section?
What negotiations were done in secret or the dark?

I don’t recall a survey asking if it were Ok to increase the pension by freezing out new hires? I don’t recall asking if we would support this MCBC plan or if we would prefer an increased B plan with cash over cap?

No survey asking if R16 would be better than R24.

No survey asking if we would be willing to give up trip bumps for student lines in return for a 25% premium opportunity that further degrades VTO.

No survey asking if we want to sacrifice AVA language by having to work our full BLG first.

They did a great job on the deviation bank though. I have no complaints there.

More frequent and much better surveys is the answer. If I see that I’m in the minority on the survey it will make decisions I disagree with more palatable as I’d know most of the crew force supports it.

Bring on TA2, this one doesn’t do it for me.

Leaks/Rumors spread - when one asked direct questions regarding such leaks/rumors to MEC officers and Block Reps they wouldn’t comment, but repeatedly stated - just wait until you see retirement.

Why could they comment on retirement, but not the other issues asked?

When one tried to offer feedback regarding the issues surrounding the leaks/rumors, they were disinterested.

If the communication system has no credible listening/feedback mechanism during negotiation, then don’t cry foul when the feedback comes all at once.

This is especially problematic/risky when the mindset is we must give things up to get gains.
The givebacks/concessions were certainly done in secrecy.

There will be a huge increase in clarity for the NC who negotiates TA 2.0

They can openly survey and rank order the most problematic portions of TA1.0 - because it’s now open for ALL to see.

Some problems may be fixed - some may not, but I’m confident the overall product will be better, and yes - worth the wait.

In Transparency, Integrity & Unity (for Everyone),

You have to be shi**ing me. Yes, the NC should get our input along the way, and, ALL of them were done in secret. Had they not been, we wouldn't be here now. You are being disingenuous if you claim not to remember how TA sections used to be put out to the crew force with maximum transparency. Stop being a shill for the NC, it is unbecoming. You beclown yourself.

I'm sure you remember that TA'd sections were put out during negotiations for contract 2006. That was the only time they were ever released before a final TA. They only released around 6 sections early, but when people started complaining about what was in the sections and demanding that they reopen them, they stopped publishing them until the final TA. You remember, the TA that passed by 90+ percent even though those released sections were so bad.
