Yes to asking my block rep - declined to answer directly. He said the credit for A-plan sunset “proved difficult to quantify” based on two main factors: forecast of new hires coming on board and how many current pilots would opt for MBCBP.
IMHO, pretty easy to read between the lines.

Or … or heres something we haven’t tried before: we could fight for the value we bring this company; god forbid the money go into the pockets of pilots and not senior executives and share holders.
where is your fight, man? why are you so determined to shuffle money around instead of demanding more? do you benefit from stock buy backs?

That'll be a nice change. Can't wait to see that. Let's see how unified we are with something simple like disputed pairings. Those haven't been an issue for a while. Think they'll all be untouched a few weeks from now? Hey, it's ANC so maybe there's a chance. According to the latest scheduling podcast, there might even be some draft available soon. Let's see how that works out. Then come back and talk to us about "fight". Or is it going to be about "deserve" again?
Just to be clear, deserve has nothing to do with it. Never has, never will.

How does that math even add up? We are all not taking the retirement in the four years of the contract. Really need to take age of retirement x longevity tables when you stop drawing it x $39K.
So if I retire at 63 with high five and 25 YOS and tables say I will live to 79 then it would be 16 years X $39K or an added value of $624K in addition to my already agreed up $130K a year. Maybe I get lucky and live to 90. So for me the extra value to me and cost to the comapny would be $1,053,000.
So there are quite a few variables which require some estimates.

Oh, we're going to fight this time? Because we sure didn't for TA 1.0. Pilots are going to make different individual choices this time around? We're going to actually back the NC when they go into the room and the company looks past them at us?

I'm confused as to how you came to that conclusion from my post. Let me assure you that I have and always will support our negotiation efforts with my own personal choices. Based on our negotiating history, I think you'll understand my skepticism concerning the choices made by many of our peers in the past and also moving forward. While I would love to see that history change, I'm not willing to bet too much scratch on a different chain of events this time around. But I'll keep doing what is expected of me during negotiations as I have done since I got into this business. If those choices are unclear to anyone or folks are confused by my reference, then ask someone smarter than you. Ignorance isn't a valid excuse.
