Calls are going out to those who arent related to someone and without MD11/KC10/DC10 time. Military folks with heavy 121 experience. Good luck!

Sorry for the newb question - all I have is military time so I'm still trying to learn the civilian semantics. Does flying heavies internationally for the military count as "121 experience" and can I put that I have 121 experience on an app?

Thanks!

No, "121 experience" means that you have operated civilian under FAR Part 121 regulations.

And that you have gone through a furlough or many displacement bids or a reduction in pay and lifestyle.

Two questions that may have already been covered:

1. What is the typical profile of newhires nowadays in terms of background and hours (i.e., military, heavy jet, 4000+ hours, etc.)? Can anyone estimate commercial vs. military background percentage?

2. What are the "most likely" aircraft type and base offerings for the newest pilots? I understand it could vary widely based on a number of factors. Just like some examples.

These numbers were posted in another thread as the result of the second practice round of our current bid. These are the unfilled seats

72 727 MEM SO
63 727 MEM FO
35 Bus MEM FO
31 MD11 ANC FO
5 Bus HKG FO
14 757 EUR FO

Basically, some as 727 SOs and any other right seat but the 777 or LAX.

Don't sweat the 121 stuff. Flying heavies internationally for the military will suffice. Good luck

I think you are missing a bunch of MD-11 MEM are you not? I thought there were about 100 vacancies? The percentile only goes to 90%...

I might be wrong, just glanced at it quickly.

Probably. I just copied the numbers from someone elses post. I did mention that any right seat but the 777 or LAX was fair game for new hires. As long as the economy doesn't tank in the near future, it's a great time to get on here at Purple.
