To answer directly DLax, no, they didn't say. My GUESS is we'll stay flat or shrink a little in the next 5 years. Contract efficiencies, the huge increase and profitability of Ground, belly freight options; and other market trends are my reasoning. But the large rise in e-commerce/online shopping should keep us fairly steady. My 2 cents.

How many of that 4600 were Flight Engineers? We had a lot more three man aircraft in 2007 than now.

Is anyone else constantly having an issue with this one thread? I always get "No Post" when it says there's more. It happens on my iPhone, the mobile and full website (the inability to see all the latest posts).
If so- mods? It's the only thread I have this issue.

Great company, great gig....so don't take this as bashing but rather just observing trends....
777 eliminated Almaty. Never my favorite layover but it generated lines.
South Cone loop gone...(hope it returns!)
Hilo flower run gone....subcontracted
Not sure what has been added and lost and the net seems to be an improving trend, but some nice flying has been dropped the last few years.

Seems to have been a shift in upper management from steady growth of capacity at Express and trying to fill it to freezing capacity and improving "revenue density" of what is put on our airplanes. Alot of subtle references to "right package in the right network" in earnings calls and even in JB message. Given we have a lower operating margin than ground or belly freight contracts I would assume that the Profit Improvement Program PIP forces as much freight as it can elsewhere in our overall network. They should rename it the PMIP profit margin improvement program.
I'd prefer the steady growth model with a slightly lower profit margin on more overall revenue and net more overall total profit with the added benefit of looser capacity to handle surges.
Lots of good info on our priorities and direction in the financial statements and investor releases. In fact I didn't realize our 767 transition was seamless.

My buddy just got the call this week to set up an interview for any Tuesday or Wednesday (etc.), January through March. Apparently something was said to the effect that there was no pool - you'll get a CJO at the end of the process.
