Not to derail the thread, but it would be nice to negotiate for our retirees to have access to the jumpseat on personal status. I know we don't have 'cabin' seats for guys not holding a current medical, but we used to carry non-pilots in all our jumpseats before. Has that ever been brought up in negotiations?
When I retire I'm going to travel civilized and buy real tickets. Probably first class on anything over 5 hours (that's what I've gotten used to :D). I want to die with zero in my bank account - the money equivalent of a zero sick balance at retirement. Sooner or later you just need to stop the cheap-ass pilot madness. Hell, I think I'll buy a USA today EVERY day, too. Just to be extra crazy. |

As far at the jumpseats, I was talking about international primarily.
If you can't travel first class AND buy hotels, beverages..... hookers and blow.... Well, that's just poor retirement planning. :D |

Yes, I'm sure i can count names. 84 members plus 10 non-members. You can download it from the Fedex MEC site

Go to the epocket calendar and scroll down to retirements.

Maybe that's a reasonably consistent option at your company. When our own active pilots can't count on a ride for actual work internationally from some of the captains (small c) on the toolbox at FedEx, retirees would probably be best served to use another option.

I can't imagine a good enough reason to do that to someone. Ever. One guy told me he had to buy an $1800 ticket home instead. |

Would you please explain where to find this. I've looked around the MEC site and still can not find it. Thanks

Two questions about current hiring details:
1. How do they offer the CJO, day of interview? Week after via phone? 2. What is the metric to sort senority? Last four social? Age? Thanks in advance...I have one coming up and the wife was asking me these questions...trying to manage future expectations. Metric for seniority is last four of Social.. the higher the number the more senior within your class. Good luck! FedEx need all the quality pilots they can get these days!! |

From what I have heard from a few bros that have recently been hired.. CJO comes very soon after the conclusion of the interview process. Usually within 24 hours.
