Or explain how commuting works. I know there is some type of rest requirement. Do you need to be in base 10 hours prior for all trips?

No relocation bennies for new hires unless you are going to a foreign domicile.

No requirement for being in base prior to domestic trip by by a certain amount of time. (Some restrictions on deviating on scheduled deadheads that require you to be in place prior to your show time) However, our fatigue risk management highly discourages this. If commuting into a trip on FedEx and something goes wrong and you miss your sign in, you are protected. There are some caveats, such as you are not protected if commuting into reserve and you miss your sign in. If you call in Fatigued and you had commuted in right before your trip, you will more than likely end up on the carpet. Just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure new hires do get relocation benefits under the new contract.

Just out of curiosity what would a typical newbie schedule be like? Are they along the lines of the airlines of 4/3 or do you do more like 7/7 or something?

From the interview this week (Amy)...30-40 per month. She then said 70 per month by end of year, fwiw.
