Yes, FedEx Express is an outstanding place to work. But the unspoken caveat is "if you've already achieved a certain level of seniority". I'm sorry but like 80-90% of us you look at your own past experience, and the world as it HAS been during that time, to project what others should experience if they get hired today. I think that hidden bias has created an unreasonable expectation on your part. |

As for your comment above - We all have biases and expectations, so I'm certainly not immune to them. I'm not sure I do in this particular case (context), but you certainly gave me a reason to self-reflect. That is some insightful thinking, sir. We all have different perspectives, experiences, and expectations. Case in point: A reserve FO who comments 2-legs to their crash-pad will not share the same perspective(s) as a line-holding CA who lives in base. Touché. |

So you don't have very many APC posts, you admit to having an "office with a door" and you don't deny my bonus allegation. Your spelling (renual?) isn't up to up to the FedEx "Accredited College" hiring standards (even though APC has a spell check?) ... and we're in the middle of Contract Negotiations. You use terms like PWA that aren't used at FedEx? Did you get turned down by FedEx when you interviewed and still hold a grudge? Who do you work for? Regardless, you don't seem to like pilots or want us to get a decent contract. You're sort of like the bully that took my money in school (and still does!). The good news is that you make a terrific Subway Sandwich!*? Or ... you could be Fox Hunter with a different screen name except that you forgot to reference your inflation calculator? :confused: |

Give the guy a break. His spelling is on par with what goes on here. You've got to admit, we actually have very few, if any, English professors posting here. As an example, I believe that in your above comment, your punctuation is not correct. I wish everyone here would spend a little time in reviewing their posts, because when I read a post with either poor grammar, misspellings, or improper punctuations, it takes something away from the credibility of the author. FedEx is an outstanding place to work – period.
I really doubt you work at FX. I've been at FX for 20yrs. I was fortunate to get hired in 96 and its been a great career for me, but its not been great for a lot of guys. Guys who have been at FX and having the reasonable expectation to upgrade to wide body Captain, have seen that expectation disappear. If you are a junior guy, or anybody that's been here for 5 yrs or so, the flying sucks. Night hub turning is hard. I would NOT recommend coming to FX to anyone. FX could be a good stepping stone for someone looking to move on but it will never be the place it was 15-20yrs ago. With the hiring and movement at the big three, why would anyone come here? And the comment that we will see an enhanced contract in the eye of the pilot is pure BS. I don't know anyone I work with that is optimistic that we will see an "enhanced" contract. I think most of us are hoping we don't get screwed. My guess is we will see some pay and maybe work improvements. But, there will be hidden things that we won't know about until we have to deal with them. FX is great at getting no dollar things into a contract that cost the pilots real money in the end. |

You’re right. I’m a terrible speller. I’ve made plenty and will undoubtedly produce more, but I assure you I do make an honest attempt. On a personal level, I did not attempt to ruffle any feathers. I thought your remarks were half-in-earnest so I volleyed. Apologies if it wasn’t appreciated. Understand that defending a screen character (who is of complete anonymity) doesn’t interest me. As the saying goes - personal attacks merit no response. This is even truer when one lacks the ability to actually be personally attacked. Produce an intelligent argument that contradicts one of my arguments and I will feel compelled to “amend” or “defend” the substance of my remarks. Lastly, I have no idea if you’re willing to change any of your viewpoints based upon what I believe, but you CAN change mine if you try. All that is required is a compelling argument. It really goes without saying - for you to suggest I must not like pilots, I work for another airline, or I am on the opposing negotiating team isn’t debating a message. Those remarks are all directed at the anonymous ME. That’s irrelevant. Truths speak for themselves and that’s what interests ME. I hope you feel the same. Vipper446, As stated above, I won’t comment on who I am. You’ll have to decide if I’m full of plausible deniability or if you trust what I have said (your choice). I have a question on the substance of your message: Since you no longer recommend anyone come to FedEx, unless they do so for the purposes of a stepping-stone, would you entertain the notion of a B-Scale? Personally, I do NOT think that is a wise decision, but I am curious what you think and why. |
