"•1500 hours total fixed-wing time as pilot-in-command (PIC) or second-in-command in multi-engine turbo-prop A/C or jet A/C or combination thereof (GTOW 12,500). A minimum of 1000 hours total fixed-wing pilot-in-command in multi-engine turbo prop A/C or jet A/C or combination thereof (GTOW 12,500 or greater) is preferred."

So....you could be qualified if you have absolutely no PIC time, just 1500 hours total, in either jet or turbo prop? 1,000 hours PIC time is merely preferred? Wow.

Recognition that we can't (or won't) compete for the best?

"Preferred" allows the demographically gifted to get hired even if they don't meet qualifications that would otherwise be "required."

If you're not demographically gifted, then you can read that as "required."

Seems no different than WN dropping their 737 type requirement recently. For the first time in a long time, I think all of the majors are hiring and the market is adjusting to it.

FedEx must be unusually diverse! Is your pilot force like 25% black and latino, and 35% female? Given the things I read on this board I can't imagine it's 88% white males like most of us in the industry.

I am like 25% black and latino AND like 35% female. I imagine my 88% white male-ness makes me like a 148% diverse pilot.

Nitefrater is retired so he's probably from the "old school."

Anyone else getting an error when trying to sync their application data from the Global Pilotcredentials site to their fedex.pilotcredentials account?

Just curious, if the window is open, where would the job be listed on the website?

I am aware of pilot credentials, and have an updated profile. I am just wondering where the job announcement is, as I can not find one at fedex.com.

Is the opening listed on the FedEx.com website? I've talked to a couple others who cannot find it either.
