Just to clarify with the new system profiles are selected based on a computer scoring system. Your recommendations/ sponsorships do you no good until the the Pilotcredentials.com site spits your profile at FedEx. Then some humans evaluate (LOTS) of potential candidates and their references. No doubt some may be cast aside because of the reputation of the person referring. Of course if you know Fred or the former CP, this could get your app in front, but somehow I think our current CP is a pretty straight shooter and feel that he would be very careful about this subject. Do you know Fred?

Once the humans sit down and weed through, which at one time I understood to be quarterly, they call for interviews. In the past they were set up to do 6-8 interviews per day. That number may have changed with the removal of the sim. But conservatively, interview 40 per week twice a month? 80 x 3 months is 240 per quarter assuming all hired.

So my prediction is lots of waiting for that lucky golden ticket and a pretty big stint in the pool due to training department limitations.

Please feel free to correct any of the above for those of you in the immediate know.

As one who went through the idiocy of the Mr PhD know it all guys little gem of a system back in 2011/12 let me throw one piece of advice at you. I found out his "system" had kicked me out of the 'little' pool (i.e. should have gotten a call because I had be vetted and approved to get that call from the 'humans' who look through them). I wasn't the only one in '11 either. So I foundered all summer of '11 waiting on a call that never came. Through some friends found out in August that in fact I was "out of the pool" - and had to make some phone calls and sponsor got involved. They didn't "know" at the time what happened but they "fixed" it and in September I was told all is well - I'd get a call. They stopped/slowed hiring for peak and I got that call in Jan of '12 instead of summer of '11. His system is - to be blunt - stupid. It has nothing to do with hiring the right pilots but with insuring companies can cover their six for whatever the insurance/PC requirements of the day are (Delta uses him too - went through that 18 months before jumping to FDX). So beware of the lunacy of certain companies and their hiring 'system' - its not as straight forward or clear as we'd hope or believe what's being advertised. Why you aren't getting a call can be for a wide number of reasons. While I'd caution anyone on hounding the hiring department, getting a sponsor involved, an occasional phone call 'asking' if things look good - "might" be in order. Squeeky wheel does get the grease after all. Just don't over do it. 2 cents.
PS - I found out what happened with the idiots system. Criteria was set that essentially said certain resumes couldn't possibly be what the applicants said they were so they just "kicked them out" without informing anyone. He'd better hope we don't run into each other in a dark alley one night...

Did they revamp the system or is the Mr. PhD system still in effect?

They just did a few tweeks to the system but he is still here and Foxtrotbroavos post is accurate.

This is not a "could" get you to the top of the list. An executive referral DOES get you to the top of the stack.

How about check airman referrals?

"Executive referral" puts people on fast track at most corporations. In this case it probably helped Victoria and her husband and I venture to say all companies have a share of those who were helped by top executives. I don't blame them. If you could use those kind of connections, wouldn't you?
