I was on the MEC during the 4a2b period. Number one guy pushing against ANY furloughs…JA…the Block 1 rep. The opinions on furlough ran the gamut, but the strongest "hold the line" calls I heard weren't just from the block 8 rep, but from some committed senior folks as well. I don't think calling people in for 2 interviews--one to test then another weeks later for an interview--are the pilot group's problem. I think its a just a snapshot of the culture here.

Spoke with a guy yesterday who said it is now just one trip to Memphis for a 2 day interview process...

You should have come to the Bus with me. My phone rings non stop on my days off... sometimes, multiple phone calls in one day. Seems no thanks is only good for the current call.

We have hired so few over the last 10 years it is hard to guess. It is also hard to guess whether the LAX base will survive the shrinking of the MD fleet. My guess is the jr guy there was a 2006 hire but who knows how long he has been there.

Can anyone confirm that the window is staying open until May 31? Thanks in advance.

That's the date given by management.

How is FedEx going to merge the seniority list with the TNT pilots?

I would imagine TNT will be kept separate but just owned by FedEx. Now as far as scope, Only the FedEx pilots can chime in on that.

I think your question should be, How is United going to be at the bottom of the FedEx seniority list after the merger. TNT? That's a new one. Merger? Never heard that one. Rumors, speculation, gossip, Yep, heard that here a lot with no substance.
