FedEx Hiring

I was on the MEC during the 4a2b period. Number one guy pushing against ANY furloughs…JA…the Block 1 rep. The opinions on furlough ran the gamut, but the strongest "hold the line" calls I heard weren't just from the block 8 rep, but from some committed senior folks as well. I don't think calling people in for 2 interviews--one to test then another weeks later for an interview--are the pilot group's problem. I think its a just a snapshot of the culture here.

By having thousands of candidates still put in an application.......and guys on property refuse to use equity during contract negotiations to make someone's life (who they haven't even met and doesn't work here yet) better....in the future.
If we were all on the same page, guys at the bottom would get draft calls. There aren't many closer to the bottom than me and I haven't received a nonpeak draft call......ever.

We have hired so few over the last 10 years it is hard to guess. It is also hard to guess whether the LAX base will survive the shrinking of the MD fleet. My guess is the jr guy there was a 2006 hire but who knows how long he has been there.

I think your question should be, How is United going to be at the bottom of the FedEx seniority list after the merger. TNT? That's a new one. Merger? Never heard that one. Rumors, speculation, gossip, Yep, heard that here a lot with no substance.
