No, I doubt his post was a jab at you, that would be nonsensical. Then again.....here on APC there can be plenty of nonsense. Probably just a random general comment. One I agree with, calendar blockers are a-holes!

I need a favor. I can't do it now because I have no PMU. If you or any of your peers have at least 6+ hours of PMU please message me and I will brief you up. You don't need to tell me your name, employee number, or anything. Purely confidential. I will advise you of what I need. Only thing I ask of you is that you record what I ask you to, keep it to yourself, and report to me generically the parameters I need. I think I can clear this up by the end of the day.

Cheers

I think I can have all this cleared up by the close of business today

I wish I had one minute of PMU. It is very rare to get it on the bus. I hope someone here has a bit and can help Jack figure this out.

Default Simple Simon, er, Jack

You are the man. This is the best posting ever, and the scheme you uncovered is so simple and devious. I imagine, when management looked into this, as reported in VIPS, that they realized everything was above board, hence no retribution.

Also, the fact that you put this out there instead of keeping it to yourself for future gain is uplifting, particularly in times when it seems everyone is out for themselves, when management is out for concessionary articles, when the average line guy is getting kicked in the nuts over and over again, and then there's you! They should make a Budweiser commercial about you.

Still, it all seems like a huge pain in the a$$, and borderline unethical. This game is not for me, nor most; however, we do need guys to ante in and play, to at the very least keep these clowns (smart clowns, cunning clowns, but clowns nonetheless) honest.

I'd take you out and buy your beers, or wine, or Shirley Temples, but I understand first you'd have to ask your wife.

Patches, Thanks for posting Simple Jack's initial theory about how picking up the charter flights work. I wondered what happened to it, as I had just reread this entire thread, looking for it, but not finding it. Again, Thanks.

Simple Jack, As far as I'm concerned (which really isn't very far at all), each and every guy who posts on this thread, after your initial theory post, should be starting their comments with "Thanks Simple Jack." If not for the theory itself, then for all the work that went into that initial post.

This debate has been raging here for months, if not years, and frankly, I'm tired of all the b!tch!ng and moaning. Yes, most everyone understands that it's not fair what these few turds have been doing, but then, life isn't fair. (I mean really, just look at me, a vibrant, good looking, almost 69 year old, saddled with a really old wife. I mean how fair is that?) Anyway, you've come up with the first real theory (in all this time), backed by all the hard work you did, and not on your own behalf, I might add. Guys should celebrate that and now go out and prove that the theory is either right or wrong. You can lynch the turds later.

Good job and on behalf of those who don't have enough courtesy to say Thank you, Thank you.

And I don't even work there anymore.

Default Wolf pack continues with impunity

At this point in the evening, I am trying to find a validation event to complete this nightmare. I wont post anymore opinions or speculations until I know for certainty that this has finally ended. Thank you for your patience and kind words. At that point, it all becomes factual.

Someone should save this thread in its entirety just in case it gets deleted. Remember what happened to some previous threads?

Simple Jack,

I'm retired and no longer have a dog in this fight but was subjected to this crap for many years while on the MD-11. I appreciate the effort you have put in for the good of most of the Fedex Pilots. If your theory is accurate it amazes me how the managers, who must have known exactly what was happening, allowed this to continue for years. For a company who used to preach "GFT" or Guarantied Fair Treatment it makes me wonder if the founder would have approved of the back ended way of getting sweet trips. The pilots doing this and the managers that allowed it to happen should be ashamed of themselves.

I hereby nominate Simple Jack for a BZ. More than anyone else in recent memory, he has directly helped out his fellow crew members by focusing a disinfecting ray of sunshine on this shady tactic. Well done. Just wondering--what happens if there are 400 people on the list every day of the month instead of just "the chosen" 2 or 3?
