Wolf pack continues with impunity

I hereby nominate Simple Jack for a BZ. More than anyone else in recent memory, he has directly helped out his fellow crew members by focusing a disinfecting ray of sunshine on this shady tactic. Well done.
Just wondering--what happens if there are 400 people on the list every day of the month instead of just "the chosen" 2 or 3?

That sounds like it might work, if Jacks' theory is correct, which I hope it is, because: 1) it would allow others to belly up to the trough at the expense of those who've been doing it for a long time now; and 2) If "(5-And now the great part. CRS does not know, Charter folks don't know, I really don't think anyone with any leverage knows this. But there is an automated system used (not mentioning it by name) to rack and stack the open time and priority assignments.)" is correct, then that would mean that schedulers, managers, and a "wolf pack" were really not the issue. And that too would be nice. I don't know if that can be proven, one way or the other, but it would certainly help to relieve the frustration that's certainly felt here.

Sorry Simple Jack, my comment on CB's was generic, not directed at you. As for your research, it all seems plausible, but then again, there are many theories on who killed Kennedy.
I think the ball should now fall into the Association's court and pilots who are screwing their buddies should be investigated by the Association and have ethics charges brought against them. In my opinion, this is not a company issue, rather a union issue.
I would be just fine with eliminating the calendar blocking option as well as "frozen trips". If the trip can't be picked up in OT, then don't put it in OT.

Still waiting to validate. Nothing else is left. Waiting for a response from a willing peer. Trying to keep all involved off the radar. If need be, if i can muster 6 hrs pmu. I will do it! Probably will have to ID myself in the process, but it may have to result in this. I do have a plan for minimal exposure for anyone having the golden ticket (pmu). I am sure everyone agrees, no proof, no validation, no post! SJ

So, there is a secret back door system inside the firewall of a Fortune 100 Company that will allow a pilot to freeze trips built by the Company and pick them up out of open time at their leisure and no one knows about it but a few MD-11 First Officers?
Yea, that's it.
Yea, that's it.

Never said it was backdoor. Never said it was inside the firewall. I do not ever recall using any of those factors in my efforts or posts. But yes, on a few people know about it. Thank you for your constructive input. I could have used you about a year ago when this was ruled out. Your preoccupation with back doors, door knobs and such may have clouded your mind. I am not an end all authority. I may be wrong. I truly hope that I am not. And if proven wrong here in the near future, then my highest priority will be to apologize to you for wasting the 15 seconds you took to type this. I came here to solicit some help and ideas. Not to be jabbed in passing by you or anyone else for that matter. When this is over, and the crew force is aware of what is going on, my objective is to fade away and disappear. I do not need nor desire any fan fare. Maybe a good charter trip next year.

I seem to remember leaving a few general makeup requests years ago in the system with "front end DH" and "short call okay for DH" or something similar. I don't have hard evidence, but I seem to remember several trips going to others who picked them up manually. I got the impressed the general makeup list was handled manually by a scheduler as a last resort before calling out the reserves. I may be wrong, and I guess we will find out...
