I know for a fact of at least one individual in the MD-11 who goes out drinking with schedulers at the Blue Monkey and is priority for draft trips. So, yep it happens, just not sure how one proves it........or even if anyone cares. Management may give it lip service, but I don't believe they give a crap.

I thought the drill was that these guys were copied on the email list saying when the charters/special trips were coming out and what they were. Don't know how true that is, but seems like it would be awfully easy for management to track that one down.

Everyone needs to relax. I know both guys and can say with almost certainty that there is nothing going on behind the scenes. They are either out-working everyone on open time or they're getting texts from fellow pilots.
The first 2 posters had no clue. They are just perpetuating a myth. This gets everyone else fired up and then everyone wants a witch hunt. If you're not checking open time 300 times a day then the guys who do check it that many times are at an advantage and WILL get the good trips. You guys need to quit complaining and get on open time more. If you've got better things to do than check open time then don't cry when we get the trips.
Fire away.

OK V1, I'll take the first shot.
If they have nothing to hide, why are their calendars blocked?
They don't just "check open time", they have a program they use that does it for them. Everyone should have a fair chance at open time, or do you disagree?
Using a program that not everyone has access to is cheating. The union and the company should shut this down or publish how to use the program so everyone can use it.
I await your response.

Ok V1 uh-oh, It is hard to relax when we are getting screwed by our fellow pilots. Your post sounds like something from the company and I guess you think we are naive and drink all the cool aide.
Quite defensive for someone who is not doing anything wrong!

PMU
The story I heard is that ppl pickup these trips using PMU. Then they drop the trips and pick them back up again to reset the PMU bank. Rinse and Repeat.
I havent tried it so I dont know if it works.
With 4200 pilots the good deal trips should fall on more than 6 people in my opinion.
