Default FDX shipping discount

This still exists correct? My airline's "crew deals" page hasn't been updated in a few years, and I haven't shipped anything in some time. I know all the specifics of it, as long as it is still in existence.

Thanks for the info.

I've used my FedEx Employee Shipping account recently (but I'm a FedEx employee).

I always thought that we gave other airline employees discounted shipping benefits in exchange for discounted personal travel benefits for FedEx employees?

It seems like it would be easy to stop at a local FedEx Office with your airline ID and ask them? Disclaimer; I've received incorrect information about MY shipping account several times from the FedEx Office folks ...

I used my discount a few months back. Just bring your ID to the FedEx location and they'll take care of the rest. Really easy.

I set up an account with the company that ID me as an employee eligible for discount. Now I just fill out the way bill drop the package off at any location or drop box and the bill shows up on my AMEX the following month. Easy and simple. It can be done on line or so as I did, drop by any office, (I used the one on Democrat). Takes about 5 minutes.

Anyone else have this experience?

Go to my local Fedex Office store and ship a 2lb item in a standard Fedex box. The rep weighs it, labels it and hands me the receipt which shows a shipping charge of $15 charged to my employee shipping acct. A week later my credit card (attached to my Fedex employee shipping acct) gets charged $32 for shipping! I tried to go online to resolve, but no way to email or call customer service. I started an online chat, but that was wrong department and they gave me the number to call. The agent said that the $15 was a “down payment” and the real charge comes later when they assess the package. I can understand the assessment on a non-standard sized box, but this was a Fedex box and they knew the weight- what’s left to assess?

Do our customers get the same “We don’t know what the final cost will be” at FedEx Office?

This has happened more than once, am I missing something?

I had this happen a couple of months ago. Went online to my credit card and contested the charge. Still had the receipt as proof. They credited my card to the correct amount. I didn’t even attempt to deal with FedEx. I found it’s best just to pay upfront, it avoids this issue.

Here's what I've learned, BTW, I'm a FedEx guy.

When I go to an Office and show my ID, the cost is always less than when I ship the same sized item and charge it to my account. I truly think that the folks in the Office locations are applying the wrong discount code. When going through your formal online account, the correct discount is applied.

When I flew for another airline, I had to drop a heavy, specialized battery off for shipping. Since it was hazmat, I needed to take it to an actual FedEx hub. I showed my ID, told the guy what it was, and he charged me $5. I told him he had to be wrong, but he said "Nope, all airline employees get this price."

I always try and ship and pay up front.

Yes, with receipt in hand I’ve gone back in and asked what happened... the local FDX Office told me that’s just ‘how it works’ and wouldn’t refund/credit. Now I avoid using us, since I have no idea what they’ll overcharge me at a later date

Default FedEx folks??

Hey FedEx, OAL guy here. First, THANK YOU for the shipping discounts! Wondering if anybody has the actual details from FedEx on the OAL 75% policy? Our company’s discount blurb just says “simply present your company badge for 75% off FedEx next/2day air, doesn't say anything else. I’ve actually been using this a lot lately sending stuff to family/friends and I’ve had several employees fill me in on different details. One said can only do 150lbs per day or 5 packages, one said can only ship to others (can’t ship to yourself from somewhere else) one said I have to be the one who pays, but another person let me show my ID then the friend standing next to me pay for the package I was sending for him? So, are there some actual guidelines somewhere? Much appreciated!
