I'm curious what you are missing when flying international business class, with lie flat seats. What do you get in first class that you don't in business? A pedicure and a happy ending?

I didn't see those bullet points. Does it say how much notice you need to give? I see that as one of the most negative changes overall. Though we would all be happy if we get that chunk of change, I'm afraid it will encourage people who were going to retire soon to stay longer, just to get it.

Some business class seats are sold as lay flat, but still have a big deck angle, thinking United and AA, our 2 favorite airlines. With first, most of the time you are guaranteed a full flat (level) bed. Try getting sleep on one of those other ones, forget it.

On AA and UA to Asia, you get your own "cubicle" with more room and better service. And a much larger deviation bank. That should be enough of a reason to consider it a giveback.

For starters, you get a deviation bank that gives you a realistic chance of getting to/from your home without money out of pocket.

The better question is why did we give up something we already had? Certainly didn't get realtime trip trading for it, something that seems like a no cost item.

Real time trip trading would have been awesome. I do like some of the trip trading changes in the TA, but would love real time. I'd rather not have to wait five hours to find out I was earlier time stamped.

Does giving something up add to the pot of money that they had to work with? If that is correct, is it worth hanging onto a costly benefit that only helps a small number of people... that is, if the deadhead ticket fares were fixed, and they aren't using unrealistic fares still. Though I don't know if the 'pot of money' theory is accurate.

8 in 24 hr relief day side?

If awarded/assigned lower pay rate crew position and pilot becomes unavailable, will begin to earn that lower rate 90 days after when would have begun training.

Who/What defines unavailable? MLOA? Out sick?
