The part of the Memphis road show I could watch highlighted that our contract is industry leading. What part do you believe isn't?"

Now that you mention it, I thought I recall our lumpsum "signing bonus" for this TA was $125 mil. In the video I just watched, SL said $134 mil. Maybe the tweaking has begun.

I keep hearing that it is substandard but I wouldnt trade contracts with anyone. I wish cloud would tell us whose he would rather have.

On many QOL issues, quality of flying, bidding, life on reserve, scheduling, CRS transparency, Bid Line Adjustments, etc... I would rather have Southwest's, Frontier's, Delta's, American's, or United's. (I speak from personal experience).

On compensation, I would not trade with anyone, for NOW. During the life of this 6 year CBA, I think we will find we would trade our compensation with Delta, UPS, United, or American, all the carriers (with the exception of UPS) that have been through bankruptcy and back.

I will add, as you and busdriver12 have, that whether or not we reject this TA, I will move on with what we decide as a group. And for what seems like all my complaining, I will reiterate that I love my job here, I consider it one of the best in the world, and want to keep it that way. I want our career to be the #1 choice for candidates, not because of pride, and not because carriers around us dropped down below our level during bankruptcy concessions, but because we are the premier shipping company in the world that can deliver like no other company can, and because we charge our customers accordingly. I believe I work for the best airline in the world (IMO), and this TA falls short of my expectations in too many areas for my next 25 years here. It lays the groundwork for a concessionary environment during record-breaking profits.

I'm with cloud sailor. Just because the union has professional video production and some nice talking points doesn't make what they are saying true. They have an agenda to sell this deal and they are doing the best to get us to just suck it up and pass this turd. Read it, talk amongst each other and spread the word. It will take a grass roots effort to defeat this thing. Unfortunately we now have to work against the guys we are paying to represent us. The Union officers and the NC let us down--plain and simple. FedEx has seen profits nearly quadruple in the last 15 years. Let me remind you this has been the worst period I can remember in commercial aviation and the for the U.S. it has been the greatest recession since the great depression. The total cost of our contract over the next 6 years is depending on how you look at the numbers is somewhere near one half of 1% of the total revenue the company is forecast to earn (that is predicting no growth).

Just because our union says the TA is industry leading doesn't mean it is.

Just because they say it is difficult and costly to preserve the value of my A fund doesn't make me anymore willing to give it up and watch inflation diminish the value of what we have all worked so hard for.

I'm not giving up work rules. We ain't in bankruptcy or financial crisis. Oil has been hovering around $40 a barrel, there is a pilot shortage, we are buying airplanes, building huge facilities, and paying huge management bonuses. Union officers and NC-- I'm tired of waiting for the next contract.

I want a real pay raise with QOL improvements not concessions, protect the value of my A fund and then a 1 or 2 % B fund will be acceptable, protect the value of my benefits and quit calling my back pay a bonus. It is the money the company owes us after dragging these negotiations on with false promises. All they did was wear us out and now my own union is trying to convince to vote for another contract extension with work rule concessions.

I supported the union fully until they started to try and sell us this POS. We need to recall all the Yes votes and put those guys back out on the line so they can remember how hard the rest of us works to pay their salaries and expense accounts. Stop being afraid, stop worrying about offending other crewmembers, spread the word Vote NO. We can live under our current deal, and as long as we dump the YES votes I think we can find the leadership to get us the deal we deserve.

FDXAV8R, which one of the "industry leading" categories are they lying about?

My thoughts exactly! Well said! We cannot give up our work rules even a fraction... I'm proud to fly for FedEx Express, but I understand who we work for...current management will do anything to save a nickel--and it will come at our expense.

In the years after the TA is signed, any language in our contract that is vague will be exploited. If it makes dollars, then it makes sense to the company.

We work too hard already, there must be zero concessions...not one.

Cloud that is a nice duck, but the question is, which contract would you trade for this TA? Ill even let you choose the Delta rejected TA. And quality of flying does not count, unless you want to compare to UPS, or start totting flight attendents.

If the answer is nobody, than I would say we have an industry leading TA. Hey if it helps raise the bar, then we did our job as professional union pilots.

I wasn't avoiding the question. I will take our current CBA with a COLA raise, to the TA, and live under its concessions for 10 years.

About other airlines QOL, I think I made my point and I know you understood it.

I know you will out-post me LAG (and everyone else on here), as you try to "search for your reason to vote no". Go for it.
