There’s a pretty wide range of backgrounds here. One common experience seems to be work as a LCA or IP.

I know of 1, and I personally know a former NASA test pilot who was hired recently.

What's the likelihood of flying less than the min at FedEx? Of course, taking less pay...

Is the typical month 4 trips? 3 Trips? Can you drop easily?

You can fly as little as you want, as long as you can either drop the trip or proffer it to someone else.

We have one day trips, 2 day trips, 3 day trips, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and I think 14 day trips, but I am not sure about those.

To make it simple, you typically get paid 6 or more hours per day, sometimes longer with block over 6.

Average pay is around 72 hours per 4 week month, 90 hours per 5 week month, but there is a minimum of 68 and 85 hours, even if they have to "buy up" your line.

If you fly a series of one day trips, they are linked together with a "hub-turn", so you usually fly what we call "week on, week off, but it might not actually be 7 days. Could be 6 or 8, depending on your line.

I've tried to keep this simple to answer your questions, but you can learn an awful lot by reading the previous posts.

There is a trip type here to suit just about every interest and preference. This is my 5th airline, and I will say, while your ability to drop trips will be dependent on numerous factors, I’ve never found it easier to drop trips and work very little. I personally have not had much trouble dropping trips. There usually is at least one greedy ***** who wants your trip. Even without dropping trips, I’ve never had so much time off, and in a row, in my life in this career.

I concur with the above poster. Even as a junior 2nd year guy, I go weeks without working without even trying. I have almost as many days off as when I flew corporate, except I’m not on call 24/7. It’s pretty hard to beat.

Looks like a win/win. That "greedy ****" gets to fly/make more and you get your days off. Otherwise you may be stuck working those days.

That is a good deal with Fedex for sure. Ability to drop trips at will. Now you take a big $$$ hit, but if you value time over money great deal.
