No, it reminds me of how much Uncle Sam takes from my paycheck each pay period.

Just a tip, you can not drop the r days around a holiday, but you can move them. Once moved, drop all you want (if you can). Good luck!

Default AVA

So why is AVA not available in all seats?

According to the CBA 25N4

4. Advance Volunteer Assignment (AVA)
The Company may advance assign a VLT trip prior to the open time assignment window subject to the following:

a. AVA shall be available and assigned to all eligible pilots beginning 7 days prior to showtime for that assignment, based on the reserve forecast.

b. A trip is eligible for AVA assignment only if the trip has a showtime:

i. between Thanksgiving day and December 31; or

ii. during a bid period in which the Company has requested voluntary vacation cancellations in the pilot’s crew position; or

iii. during a bid period in which the Company has involuntarily canceled a vacation in the pilot’s crew position.

They can turn on AVA on a day-to-day basis. They can have it on for the full 7 days, or none, or anything in between. To know if/when Crew Control has it "on" got to Bid Line Adjustments > AVA. There was AVA for M57F for a few days in early-mid NOV, but I believe not at all since then.

Like someone said, if every OT trip is immediately picked up by guys wanting to consolidate, we won't see AVA (not that I fault them, as I will not wait for AVA if I see a hometown layover in OT).

I won't pay attention to obob866. He is just a pi$$ed off Omni pilot wishing he was here at FedEx.

Really??? I'll assume that he's a wannabe FedEx pilot? I'm not sure that I'd be poking my finger in the eye of potential fellow pilots (and Management)?

We all know that Management monitors these forums despite their denials.

I'll let Albie counsel this guy off line with his sage guidance!*?

Good luck with your interview.
