Aside from that, I’m interested in crew meals. After all, the way to a pilots heart is there stomach… As long as I’m fed on min rest/max duty, I’d be functionally happy…
You can order crew meals on literally every leg, and request whatever you want. Whether or not you’ll get it is a different story. Also allowed to expense 3 meals a day currently. If you’re not eating on the road then it’s your fault, not Flexjet’s.

the thing that annoyed me most was every time there was a change during the night, that first leg catering would drop off. Like, there’s a 99.999% chance that if I’m in Pontiac, MI, I’ll be flying out of Pontiac, MI in the morning. Please just keep that first leg without me having to wake up and reorder it during the night. I can fix the subsequent legs later.

JT,

I feel that, for sure.

Tip: have dispatch build you a “breakfast leg”. It’s a “flight” KABC-KABC at your show time and you can tie your catering to that so it doesn’t get lost when the inevitable changes hit.

Its small frustrations like this thats making me leave. I had 18....you read that right eighteen....changes overnight. And not once did dispatch consider to keep breakfast on our 7 am departure. all these changes made in the dead of the morning so its either a. get some sleep for my 14 hour day that will change or b. wake up, call a dispatcher that could careless, to build a "breakfast leg" in the morning or c. order uber eats and delay the outbound by 60 minutes cause of the stupidity. Its just small pin pricks that make the enjoyable job (i like working at flex btw) a pain in the ass. So in the end its the companys indecisiveness that drove me away

my company doesn’t have crewmeals. And when we do get them approved they are one per day and a Panera sandwich that’s been sitting for 6 hours. who provides your crew meals? Air culinaire? Jimmy johns?

Catering is provided by Air Culinare or other catering kitchen sources.

We buy food often and take it with us for trips.
Much cheaper and tastier!!

If my day one is a late start or I end up next to a whole foods I’ll buy a few days worth of healthy food. Store it in my cooler bag and expense it as multiple meals. Never had a problem doing it.
