Default Centerline Thrust Removal part of training?

Hey just a quick question here. I'm a military guard guy. I have my Comm-Multi but the multi has the Centerline Thrust restriction from my time flying the T-38.

With my civilian and mil time combined I am nearing the 750 for the R-ATP. As a result I'm starting to look towards applying to a regional. My question is, and sorry if it's a dumb one, do I need to get that centerline restriction removed on my own before hand, or does the training I would ultimately obtain at said regional provide the removal of that restriction?

Thanks!

Several regionals have the centerline restriction removal as part of their training syllabus. Envoy and ExpressJet are two that I specifically know of, but there are probably also others at this point. Companies must have their training syllabus specifically blessed by the FAA to do this.

When you speak to recruiters/interviewers when picking a regional, specifically ask them if they include that as part of their CTP/ATP/Type/121 syllabus.

It would seem that the problem would be more in getting hired with the restriction than a training program not removing the restriction.

It seems that the whole reason I, and all my peers, went and got our ATP in a light twin was so those that did have the CLT restriction on their multi-rating would have it removed prior to applications being submitted.

Pretty much a non-issue for a mil guy at the regionals these days due to their staffing difficulties.

Will a regional hire somebody who meets the requirements for the restricted ATP but does not yet have the rating? If they are going to give you the ATP training and ride, then this will remove the centerline restriction.

There are all kinds of programs available at the various regional carriers. Some have provisions to get the required hours, as when coming out of a university's flight training program.

I would go to the horse's mouth and ask the airline in question, requirements can change. When serious, go to a 'meet & greet' type event. Then apply to everyone where you qualify & may want to work. When a position is offered it's time to decide what's best for you.
