Cessna 150 !!
#24
I woke up this morning to 29MPH winds and it looks like I will not be flying however I am going down to the hangar to play with the new GPS to see if I can learn how to use it. I am also taking a camera so I can get some digital pictures.
My home is in the pacific northwest. I live in a little farm town near the mountains. Yesterday my wife told me that she bought some beef and to my surprise they were two calves. I guess we are supposed to raise them.

Hey FlyingDog...did you ever have an issue with your dogs flying with you? We've really been wanting to take our newest addition to the family up...named her Piper - can you guess after what? Ha. I'm a little nervous at the idea...at least until I know she's not going to flip out and try to get up front in my lap.

I actually got a BFR last spring in a Cessna 172 from a guy who often visits this forum. He told me at the time that he didn't think I wouldn't kill myself right away. My medical and life insurance are current. The plane has just been through a complete annual. I think that I am ready to go.
Years ago I owned a 150J that I would fly to Alaska and instruct out of. I flew that thing all over the north American continent. Most of the time I would set up a tent and camp under the wing. My dog also would ride in the back. On one occasion I did a zero G maneuver to see what the dog would do and once she was floating in the cabin she started to kick her feet and paddle like she was in water and was swimming. It was a funny sight until she swam her way into the front !!
I might try and get permission to fly this morning, but my wife hates surprises like that.

SkyHigh that is a great bird. I loved training in that plane. You'll have to bring it up to 6,000 on a clear day with a roll of toilet paper. Toss the toilet paper out, put your power to idle, watch it unravel and fly around the stream.

Wow
I was always very low whenever we did that. I bet that a full roll of TP from 6000' is something to see.

Jenn - I started by taking my dog Jerri (75 # female shepherd) for a fast taxi - no prob. Then we went for a 3' flight down the runway and landed - no prob. - went home - next day we flew.
But she had on a harness with a leash (not from her neck but harness) and clipped to a D ring in the cargo floor - if we stopped fast she would not have hit the panel.
Jerri laid on a ski life vest as a pad.
Then I started flying German Shepherds for a rescue - pull up grab strange huge dogs - throw them in the back and go - and I never had a problem - IMC and all... Maybe just lucky - maybe just the breed.
I got tons of stories - going NORDO IMC and the dog knew something was not right and she stood up sat next to me and just put her head next to mine - I gave her a hug and we finished the flight - they are the best co-pilots...
I got another Apache (90# male) should have called him Aztec as his nose is more like that same thing though - would fly the H3LL and not bat an eye.
