Actually I have never stated that I have given up my career dreams; however, I can not afford to sacrifice much more in the pursuit of it. If the dream job comes on my terms I will not hesitate.

The Cessna 150 at least will give me the opportunity to stay current. If something comes out of that then all the better.

Thanks for the well wishes!!

Small town aviation is tough if you don't own your own plane. I was in or near Atlanta for many years prior to coming to a small north Georgia town, and I suffered a significant loss of flying opportunites when I left the city. There is a skydiving outfit 35 miles out that hires me and couple of rental outifts with aged Cessnas for rent, but no twins, tailwheels, glass panel, turbo or high power rentals and the one flight school is 45 miles away. In a small town are always a small number of companies that come and go in Lears and a few dozen hobby pilots on the local field, but the airport is quiet most of time. You can easily forget what it is to be a pilot in a small town and it illustrates that most of aviation is urban. I am moving to Wichita next month and look forward to the change.

Great to hear it, Sky. Fly safe.

Good luck Sky, good to hear some excitement about aviation coming from you.

Have Fun!

You'll have a blast teaching the kiddos to fly, I hope they have the interest to at least fly your new toy around the patch!

TIW has great $100 burgers, give me shout if you ever make it down this way.

Default I flew it today !!

It was a gorgeous day with calm winds. I received a phone call earlier in the day notifying me that my increased life insurance was in effect. My wife went to town with the kids and wasn't around to stop me so I flew the plane today!! I noticed that I was even quite excited as I drove to the airport. I did five touch and go's.

The engine ran great. The plane seemed to fly strait. What a rush !! I may go flying again tomorrow.

I woke up this morning to 29MPH winds and it looks like I will not be flying however I am going down to the hangar to play with the new GPS to see if I can learn how to use it. I am also taking a camera so I can get some digital pictures.

My home is in the pacific northwest. I live in a little farm town near the mountains. Yesterday my wife told me that she bought some beef and to my surprise they were two calves. I guess we are supposed to raise them.

I had a 1969 150J model.... Got like 800 hours in it - My one German Shepherd has like 600 hours in it.

Took the right seat yoke out and the seat and she was set to ride....

With the 40 degs of flaps and the right wind - you can fly approaches like when I used to fly bell 47's

The only thing better is an Aerobat 150/150

Enjoy
