not just within, there is plenty of class B that stops before the vail, and extends outside the vail

1) Mode C Vail
2) In and above Class B and C
3) Above 10,000

Because sometimes the B goes outside the veil............that was the question.

There's a part about this outside of the sections about Class B and the Mode C veil . . . I'll try to find it, but if I remember correctly, it says you still need the C.

heard this question too and I always thought that mode c was required below class b. If you look at a Seattle sectional at Seatac you will see that the lateral boundry of b goes beyond the mode c veil, so I thought that mode c would be required below the shelf there. And you can be within the 30 nm mode c veil and not be even in or below the class b, this is why the 30 nm magenta line is there.

I could be wrong but that is just what I was taught.

Alright, unless someone can show an additional reg....

1) Mode C Vail
2) In and above Class B and C
3) Above 10,000

nothing about below class B (when it sticks out of the vail)
