Default Low Cost Cross Country Time

Cross country time at a low cost with a CFI - $25 per hour
Regular flights from the Pueblo/Colorado Springs area to the Rapid City, SD area
Typical roundtrip HOBBS time: 7.0
Aircraft - 1974 Piper Cherokee based in Pueblo
These are not charter flights.
Great way for you to build some valuable time with a CFI
Work on pilotage, dead reckoning, radio navigation, and ATC communications
Refresher in cross country flying
Put some time in your logbook
Get out and spread your wings
A flight review can be accomplish on these flights
All pilot levels welcome

Sounds like someone traveling back and forth to Rapid City regularly trying to defray some of the costs without running afoul of 61.113 and Part 119.

I am commuting between the two cities. My wife is still in the Air Force and was relocated to the Rapid City area. I still have a commitment with screening USAF pilot candidates in Pueblo.

I rent the Cherokee for $50/hour wet and am simply looking to split the cost. I earned over 200 hours of cross country with a flight instructor in this same manner 10 years ago. That was some of the greatest flying and experience building I have had to date.

I'm actually interested in taking you up on this. Don't know that I could make it work more than maybe once or twice though.

How long do you think you'll be doing this?

For the time being up until the end of May/beginning of June. This will be one or two weekends a month.

After that it will be limited. I'll be in South Dakota for a month and in Colorado for a month.

That's the plan for now atleast.

If you're making a flight during the last week of May, I might be interested in joining you.
