$175/hr Multi Time - What Is Stopping You?
This isnt an ad, but more of a question for those looking for block multi time.
A guy I know near DFW has an Apache he is renting out for $175/hour, the only kicker is that for insurance he has to be sitting right seat. It is cleaned up inside and out, and he has had some people come out to take a look at the plane...but alas no customers. They all wind up at ATP, AF, or some other flight school who charges well over his current going price for the same generic twin piston time.
So the question posed is what multi time builders are looking for, considering time is time, and the less money spent the more time can be purchased or saved for other activities.

And as far as easy going...I would say most definitely.
Fair enough. But considering that you are logging multi PIC (the end goal of all this for the customer) and he is there trying to run his business, is it a mental thing, a way the logbook would look, or just a personal preference of someone else monitoring you in an aircraft?

$175 is a decent wet rental price, although after successfully completing a checkout, a rated pilot should expect to able to rent the aircraft - alone. The ride-along clause would be a show stopper for sure.

I just find it very hard to believe that this guy is going to let people fly his Apache for $175 an hour without getting something out of it himself. As an aircraft owner in the DFW metroplex, I think $175 an hour wouldn't be a real big profit considering fuel and maintenance expenses around here.
I wouldn't let people just randomly rent my Saratoga for slightly more than it costs me an hour to own it, just because I can. Let friends borrow it? Sure. But I don't see a lot of reason for him to do this unless he's logging the time or just really really nice to people wanting multi PIC.
But maybe I'm just a pessimist?
