I passed the interview here in Denton. I was wondering what the standardization classes are like? Any insight would be great thanks.

read the sop/FOM get an ipad and put the airplane flying handbook, poh, phak on it. David and maybe gates will run you thru ops for a week. you learn our sop/FOM and myfbo. after that its gyi or Dto.
I'll end up sitting in on a few indocs if the wx remains the same.

I'm from the DFW area and have done a little research into USAA. Do any of you guys working at USAA know anything about the joint program they are doing with Tarrant County College? I heard they will be flight instructing out of Alliance Airport instead of the one in Denton. Is this true? I'd like to fly out of Alliance if possible (it cuts my travel time by more than half). I'm still a few months away from beginning to flight instruct, (I'm currently working on my Commercial) but I'm trying to plan for a job once I've got the necessary ratings. Anybody have any knowledge about the TCC/USAA program?

Any USAA CFIs on here? How many hours are you averaging per month?

I worked as an intern at US Aviation during the summer. I know the plan was to teach the TCC program out of Alliance airport (so that the training is done in Tarrant County).

David Adams is over hiring at US Aviation and Tyson Walker would be a good person to talk to if you are interested in taking classes at TCC.

As for hours that US Aviation instructors get per month, I couldn't tell you off the top of my head. I know we have some CFI's who are very motivated and fly a ton.

The joint program with TCC starts next semester out of Alliance. Not sure if flying will start then or the following fall. All of the flight instructors will be provided from USAA, but not sure if you can solely instruct at TCC. It's a new program so the details are still being worked out. Best bet is to talk to David Adams who does the hiring at USAA.

Most everyone starts out at $15/hr and 17 if you come in with exp. average hours a month varies significantly depending which program you are in. Im somewhere around 130hrs this month which is certainly not the norm; Things are just hung up in the multi and turbine curriculums. Winter months are ahead which generally means slower months. But we just got 4 news classes so there will be a lot of flying to do for the new hires.

The eagle program is still up, running and available. Instructors get I think 15% off of airplane rentals.

I'm not at liberty to discuss the interview because there's a good chance I might be in it... Lol
