737 Type - Higher Power or CPT

Reverted, thanks for the detailed reply! You answered many of the questions I had, in particular how the split ops worked out. I would be curious to hear someone's recent experience from the classic course too.

Add me to the list of folks wondering. I am also another that has nothing else to use my 9/11 GI bill on. I work 60 on 60 off so course length will play in my decision.
On a side note I want to get my ATP with my type. How does this work? Do you do a separate ATP oral or is the training you would do anyway the same as the ATP stuff and they just sign off the extra piece of paper?

I did my training with CPT in early June and from the day I walked in the door till the day I had my temporary license with B737 type on it was 9 days. I did study about a week before the class but to be honest if you have any 121 experience they get your spinning up pretty fast with two days of Ground School - long days - but they are instituting a new power point and video and hands on instructional portion to the course which is much different than it has been in the past for their Ground School. The instructors are "all in" in that they are not watching the clock and will do whatever they need to out of the sim and inside the sim to get you confident and ready for both the oral and the check ride.
I have to say that the group they have on site now made a very intense course - fun. I would highly recommend CPT if you are looking at getting your type and or ATP.
Also, all the training is in one spot - the hotel is within walking distance of PanAm and there are plenty of places to eat also within walking distance. I think the cost of the rooms were around $70 a night. The fact I could take this course in one location was a big factor in me choosing CPT and once in Miami I was happy I did choose them as the atmosphere was anything but intimidating and I knew these folks were committed to helping me get ready for the oral and check ride in a relaxed yet challenging environment.
