Give the girlfriend passes to meet up with you all over the world on overnights, and you live in the apartment building with 3000 cabin crew girls from all over the world, age 18-30, certified no fatties.
No wonder they made you the moderator! Thanks for the all the tips, I think we'll just risk it as suggested and treat it as one of life's adventures (if I get in) - does anyone know the penalty if we get caught? I guess I just get fired and deported? I can't see US airlines caring if I was fired from a previous job for living with a girl?!

JAIL......

Woman in Dubai sex case sacked for flirtingOne of the two women at the centre of a Dubai sex scandal involving a New Zealand man had been sacked for being too flirtatious, her former boss has told reporters.
Danielle Spencer, 31, was in bed with New Zealander Toby Carroll in Dubai when Mr Carroll's former lover, Brazilian model Priscilla Ferreira, found them and went on a spree of violence.

She cut up furniture and furnishing with a knife and threatened both as a terrified Ms Spencer hid in the bathroom.

All three were arrested after Mr Carroll called police.

They are still in custody awaiting possible trial - Mr Carroll and Ms Spencer for having illicit sex, and Ms Ferreira for violence and criminal damage.

In Dubai, it is illegal to have sex outside marriage.
Mr Carroll had apparently broken up with Ms Ferreira the day before she stormed through his apartment in Dubai, after she found him with Ms Spencer.

Ms Spencer was described by her former boss as 'a Walter Mitty character' who had been asked to leave after barely a month for fear that her behaviour would cause a scandal by Dubai's standards.

She could be extremely flirtatious with colleagues and clients, said the *British businessman who did not want be named.

He said she sent him photographs of herself in modelling poses.

She became popular very quickly but was also becoming an embarrassment for the firm in Dubai because of the strict laws about extramarital sex.

Authorities turned a blind eye if people were discreet, but she was being "pretty flagrant", he said.

She had been good at her job showing clients around luxury properties.

Ms Spencer spoke with an Australian accent, but they later discovered she was from Hull in England.

She was a well known around Dubai's party scene, said a friend.

Mr Carroll, in his 30s, worked as a property analyst at HSBC Bank in Dub

Yup, no matter what it is still illegal.

If you keep quiet and behave yourselves you'll have no problems. If you and the girlfriend decide to have a knife fight (or worse, you and your Brazilian girlfriend on the side) and the cops have to make a visit; you're screwed.

Dune's correct. However, someone will have to sponser one's girlfriend/boyfriend to be able to live in the UAE. Of course they can come over and visit, but living with you? That person has to have a job (if not married to you) to be able to stay for any real length of time. And if you are living in EK accomodations, you may have to sign them in and out everytime. Reminds me of US Southern universities in the 50s and 60s.

TP is always good for information about EK. When reading the older posts here and on pprune, I find that there is a lot of negativity from the same people, so keep that in mind. There are a few people (like TP) who stay neutral and tell it like it is.

Prior to my interview in Dubai, I was fortunate enough to have completed the sim portion a month prior, so I had an extra half day to explore. I went many places in a short time and saw a lot. ( G-strings bikinis at the beach comes to mind)

Yes, the labor camps are a sad fact. The maid's room in a villa is smaller than my master bathroom. Yes, those things were a little shocking and sad to me, but as a friend of mine from India put it, they make far more money than in the countries they hail from.
A lot of what is written is just not true. The issues with "girlfriends" is really not a issue if you are low key. "If you don't have any enemies, the you will have no problems". That is quote from a woman who works at EK when questioned by a large group of men about "dating".

It even says on the UAE embassy website that if you go to the UAE, "You will see people holding hands, but those are married people or people who are related."

If you have a friend or can visit on your own, go to Dubai and experience it for yourself. I went over with fairly low expectations, even though I have a few friends that work for EK, but I came away thinking it was AMAZING!!!! Las Vegas without the casinos. Good luck...I say COME ON OVER!!!

My two visits to Dubia were a lot of fun.
