Default Best time for NJ

I am looking to get on with Netjets at some point in the next year or two. I am curious if it is better to have more PIC time or more jet time. I currently have 2300 hours with about 200 multi almost all in turbine equip, ent and 100 in jets. Unfortunately not real high on PIC time in pistons or turbines. Thanks

I have a buddy on the Exel at NJ. He started at Atlatic Coast Airlines on the CRJ, then Independence, then Ameriflight. He was only an F/O at all three and NJ hired him with roughly 3000 hours. From what he tells me, NJ will be hiring 500 pilots next year. They are absolutely blowing up and they need the talent to fill the planes.

I'd suggest multi-crew jet time over PIC since there have been many regional FOs with very little PIC hired here and the SIC time is usually a lot easier to get quickly. I suggest getting jet time ASAP. We hired around 450 last year and this year we will probably only bring in between 250 and 350. Nobody with any real knowledge has given the word for next year yet. We are growing by a little over 30 airframes this year (getting many more, but selling off a bunch of high time airframes also). It will probably be similar for the next few years at least. The only way we'll really open it up again is if the older guys start retiring a lot faster and even then the sim slots at Flight Safety have been hard to come by and the training department seems to have slowed things down since they had such a hideous bottleneck last year. Get the time and then send the resume- good luck.

Thanks for the replies. Currently looking at going to the Regionals for the third time if not able to get to NetJets directly. Probably a slim shot at that. Does having people walk the resume in have any impact on how they look at your time. Does military experience (not flying) mean anything to them? Meant to say earlier multi time is about 2000 all being on turboprop except for 150 on the CRJ.

I got hired with ZERO jet time and over 2000 PIC turbine in turboprops all 135 time. And my roomate got hired with lots of jet SIC and very little PIC. So I know they hire all walks of pilots. IF you meet the mins sign yourself up and get that ball rolling.

Most of the new-hires in my class had lots more hours than the NetJets "minimums". NetJets seems to have no shortage of pilots wanting a job.

However, I got the sense in the interview that once called for the interview, they had judged your qualifications as acceptable. The interview was all about finding out what kind of a person you are.

The sim is more about your CRM skills than your flying skills.

If you are low on time, go ahead and apply; there's no penalty. However, you will not get "the call" unless your time meets their requirements.

Two things for you to consider: how are 7 day trips going to impact you and your family and are you willing to move to one of the five domiciles? Don't even consider commuting.
