I have 2500 hours in the B737-200/300/400 and 1300 hours in the A319/320/321. And at NetJets I've spent countless hours riding in the back of those two jets otw to wherever my assigned jet was. The Airbus has a 7" wider fuselage which allows for wider seats. This does vary by airline thou. The cockpit in the 'bus is bigger and much more comfy. I've had jumpseaters stretch out and sleep on the floor of the Airbus cockpit on trans-cons.
Having flown both jets I'd take the Airbus hands down. I call it the "ultimate lazy pilot's jet" because it does everything for you. It took maybe 5 minutes to get the cockpit ready for a flight because of all the automation, auto-loading of flight plans, etc. It can bite you in the ass if you don't stay on top of the automation thou.
Mostly older pilots who aren't tech savvy did struggle with the bus at times. Legend has it a USAirways A319 went around at LGA, when queried by the tower as to the reason for the go around, the Captain said "well the jet decided to go around so we decided we better go with it" Another story was about an old DC-9 Captain who held onto that jet until the last one was parked in the desert. He was displaced to the Airbus. Ground school was very good, classroom in the morning was reinforced by a cockpit procedures trainer in the afternoon. The CPT was nice, basically a full sim minus the motion and visual. The old DC-9 Captain got into the CPT for the first time, look around and said "Now I know how a dog feels watching TV"

Then he also probably can't operate such modern equipment like a microwave or a VHS player. The bus is more comfortable, quieter, roomier, and safer than anything McD or Boeing has put on the market. And the C Series will probably be even better. Some dinosaurs can't handle change. I hope your friend is enjoying his '83 El Camino. Those F!@#ers were sweet.

If anyone hates Airbus, they have never flown one, period. Doesn't mean they are bad pilots or dinosaurs, but it means they have never flown one.

You could be right, I don’t hate them, but my bud is always mocking the 330 ,says it’s shyte compared to Boeing, he’s flown both, and that’s his considered opinion, yours is different, cool.

Opinion is one thing, it's a whole other to ignore facts and specs. But that seems to be a common theme lol.
