AFAIK part 61 doesn't allow that, would love to hear a different opinion and be able to log these hours

I would have to look at your OpSpecs. Let's try not to derail the thread too much...

Thanks for your help
I wouldn't worry about it much. There aren't enough training captains so you probably won't get off IOE. And there are not enough captains period, and not much left in the pipeline for upgrade. So you probably won't fly. But if you do, you'll wish you were back rotting in the Hampton Inn. Street captains are not working out either. I wouldn't be surprised to see a hiring freeze soon, maybe even a furlough once the captain to FO ratio gets so bad it doesn't make sense. That ratio may happen sooner rather than later. After the WIA conference and the summer looming, a lot more captains are packing their chutes. Just be aware of what you guys are getting into. Keep your resume updated.

I'd assume they just mean with the networking one can do at the conference if someone was on the fence about leaving they may have an atttractive job offer after the conference.

Leaving? Or waiting for the company to announce the 7/7? I hope the 7/7 comes back and same or better pay.

Haha, 7/7 isn't going to happen. Giant IF, if it ever did it would come with a pay REDUCTION, I'm guessing a 1/8th reduction if you want to do the math. I'm not hanging around for any of that, and a lot more captains are splitting time in a multi to get out and get to a regional.

I'm leaving, offer in hand waiting on a class date at the regionals.
