I applied about a week and a half ago. The email I got only mentioned a Spring and Winter class but not the Summer class. Anyone know the typical timeline to hear back for an interview if selected? Also, if there are more classes than the two, does anyone know how far out they are filled?

Response time on getting an interview tends to vary based on experience and need. The company plans on holding one class every month this year, with about 8 people in each. They hold interviews during the first few days of each month to fill the class starting the first Monday of the following month.

Due to the current situation hiring has been put on a back burner. All in person interviews have been placed on hold and all simulator training in Dallas has been postponed. So with all that who knows what the future training plans are.

How are the pilots holding up at PlaneSense? I just saw Tradewinds furloughed a bunch.

Anyone know what the direct entry captain training contract commitment is, if any? I have seen it for the FO position, but no the former.

Default Part time DEC?

Any details on being a part time CA? I live within 100 miles of PSM. I realize hiring is probably not the company priority given the virus but any idea if they plan on hiring part timers? What’s the state of plane sense as of now with everything going on?

thanks!

A friend of mine is interviewing over the phone for a direct entry captain position. Probably don’t need a ton of people right now though.

Plane Sense does hire Direct Entry Captains who can be part time and I’m one of them. You will paid as a Captain from day one but won’t be part time for 7-8 months. The 1st month will be ground school and sim training as an FO then you will do 3 rotations as an FO. That will be folllowed by upgrade ground school then 3 rotations with an Instructor where you fly the left seat and perform Captain duties. Then you will do sim training as a Captain and then once you have 100 hours as a Captain you can request to go part time. As a part timer in PSM you will have 8 days on followed by 20 off, but on your days off you can pick up overtime.
Currently flying is down about 80% and all training has been put on hold so I don’t know when hiring will resume. It depends on how fast flying picks up after the stay at home orders are moved.

Nope. Those are currently being sold and pilots are being trained in the 24.
