I have a class date of February 23rd.

First contact from me to them was an email in May, then hand carried a cover letter and resume to their recruiting tent at Oshkosh in July, got invited for the Teams technical interview later in July.

Invited to MCO to interview in October and got the job offer the next day.

I retire in January and start at PlaneSense in mid-February.

The entire process has been head and shoulders above all the other places that might hire a retired 121 pilot. They've been extremely professional and just plain nice!

Really looking forward to starting the next chapter there in February.

Just curious (I'm personally 2 yrs out still..), did you get hired as a DEC (i.e. el' capieton) or what is the upgrade time. Also, were you placed in the PC12 or 24? Thanks

As far as I know, I’m just a new hire PC-12 F/O.

I will still need the 100hrs and a recommendation to upgrade to PC-12 PIC/Captain.

Which is fine! I figure that’s at least 2-3 months on the line flying, watching, learning. I’ll need/want at least that much time to figure things out.

Don't think they’re placing anyone directly into the PC-24. I think it’s a year and a half or two years to get into the jet and it’s done based on seniority not (necessarily) merit.

Plane Sense no longer does DEC. Once you have completed FO IOE, and have 1400 hours, you can ask for an upgrade evaluation. If successful you are then paid as a first year Captain and are put into the next upgrade class, you can bypass one upgrade class.
As was previously said assignment to the PC24 is seniority based for PC12 Captains, which is currently 2 1/2-3 years.

Oh shoot…that’s why its hard for us low time 2000h pilots to get a glance….retired 121 bubbas fillin the slots. Congrats on the gig….kinda jelly. Maybe I will get the call from them soon.

Keep us posted on the process….

I was the only 121 pilot out of 20 that interviewed so your flight hour demographic still has the lions share of new hire slots.

Plane Sense ended 2025 with 19 PC-24s and 45 PC-12s (24 are NGX) and 297 Pilots
The plan is to end 2026 with 22 PC-24s and 51 PC-12s (5 will be the PC-12 PRO)
