Not a NetJets employee but I am flying out of a FBO that has alot of the NetJet guys come in and the 5 or 6 I have spoken with in the last week or so have all been for this. They also mentioned a pay raise as well. They didn't say how much, but they said it was in the current proposal.

Hope it all works out for you guys.

There are some surprising choices on there... It's a nice layout geographically, but some of those airports don't have a lot of airline service to get folks out if there isn't an aircraft laying over at the beginning of a duty period. (Such as FAR)
The airports without airline service are major hubs of Netjets activity. That's why places like PDK, TEB, and VNY are on there. Plus, they are all within walking distance of major airports (ATL, EWR, LAX) with tons of airline service, so it won't really affect getting guys in and out.

As far as this whole thing goes, it involves way more than just elimination of the domicile system. What we will be voting on at Netjets is changes to many other parts of our contract as well. If it were just the HBA issue, then I think it would be a slam dunk. But this vote will also include things such as revisions to sick leave, scheduling, standby duty, supposedly money (although I have not heard anything from our leadership about that), and a few other areas. Therefore, there will be a lot of stuff for us to consider before we vote.

As far as the vote will go, it's impossible to say. Our NJA pilot message board is really nothing more than the same 20 guys complaining about stuff, so it's impossible to get a read on it. I remember how negative guys were on our message board during the contract vote, yet it passed with 82%. Additionally, nobody can make an informed decision at this point since none of us have seen the final product.

But the vote is getting close. I imagine the vote will be counted and we will all have our answer sometime before Thanksgiving.

There's something in there about eliminating the bottom two pay classes too isn't there? I've also heard about a 15% pay increase to the 7/7 schedule, the same for the current reserve schedule, and a higher increase to the new reserve schedule over the current reserve schedule.

Are the Gulfstreams going to be on the same list as everyone else with this vote?

If this thing passes, I think we'll start hearing a huge sucking sound coming from the regionals!

of all the "try before you buy" loa's I see very little benefit to the pilots, and a lot to NETJETS Inc. Same with the sectional footnotes 1108 put out. I can't see this passing.

I have not heard or read anything from our leadership about changes in pay. Maybe I missed the message somewhere. But I think that everything you are hearing is rumors. None of it came from our MEC, despite what people may be telling you.

No. The Gulfstreams are still operated as an entirely separate entity. Those pilots are not affected in any way by this.

It's hard to say. NJA can only hire so many pilots at one time. So even if we hired 400 regional pilots a year, it would be a drop in the bucket when you consider the total number of regional pilots out there. Plus, some guys love to wear hats and talk on the intercom. That's something they'll never get to do at NJA.

Bill Olsen did say they were going to be negotiating section 27 pay wages in multiple posts in the last week. At one point he did hint at trying to get 7 and 7 closer to current reserve pay, but he also said there would be no "kick ass pay" and in other posts he said he doubted more than 10 percent raises. He also wrote that they are going to try to change the pay scales to have more money on the bottom and top- FOs and very senior since the top guys didn't get as big a bump as the more junior captains on the current contract. Details are definitely not out for another few weeks- those are just things that the man wrote he will be trying to accomplish.

As far as the Gulfstreams he said that he will be concentrating on the in '08.

And as long as the majors are hiring I think NJA will be more of an afterthought for the majority of regional pilots. Most regional pilots have never even considered anything other than the majors and don't have a clue how good NJA really is. We are already drawing many from the regionals, but like the post above says- we can only hire so many per year and we won't really be hiring any more if it passes than if it doesn't. The IBB package is being partially designed to keep a steady flow of high quality applicants coming in now that the majors are hiring again. Eventually 5 domiciles will start to shrink quality applications, it just hasn't really done it yet.
