First of all, I guess it depends on how many years you have invested. But if you were at Northwest, or US Airways, I would say yeah, absolutely, go for it. If we see a couple of airline mergers in the coming years, I think US, NW and maybe UA are the most vulnerable, they would be the ones being adquired. Delta doesn't want a merger, and if they do, they'll be the ones doing the buying. So I don't think you have to worry about loosing your job to something like that. As far as DL's prospects, you know more than we do. But Netjets is here to stay. I don't see a weakness in this company.

You said you commute, I know what its like. I did it for two years at the airlines. NEVER again. That was the most stressful thing I've ever done. No commuting at NJ, you'll think you die and went to heaven.

Leaving Delta for Netjets

Believe me, I think Netjets is the place to be. Great new TA, nice equipment, good schedule, most-varied flying. With that said, Delta is the only passenger airline I would consider if I were not picked up by Netjets based on its growth and improved prospects after chap 11. People leave for their own reasons (i.e., commuting hassles), but I would think long and hard before leaving Delta for any other operator. Of course, I am not in his shoes and I don't know what his issues are...

It is by far the most difficult commute in the business. There are a ton of people that commute between DFW and ATL. Not having to do that and make decent money is a good alternative to doing the commute for the next 30 years.

Where is the list of airports that NetJets flys out of. I know it is 100 of them, but which ones? LIT? Do the new hires get the 7/7 or can you PICK which schedule that you want to work?

Looks like LIT is on the list.
As a new hire you are on the 18 day schedule for ease of scheduling Indoc and AC initial. After training or 120 days you can bid out of the 18 day to the 7&7.

Commuting would be a problem and I agree that working for Netjets would remove that issue for you. And yes, Little Rock is on the list. Here's the link to the list:

Hi!

10% of a pilot group WILL be on the 15 day reserve schedule-it may go senior, or it may have to be junior manned. UP TO 40% CAN be on the 18 day schedule, bid on and published by the 15th of the month before. It is VOLUNTARY, and up to 90% can be on the 7/7 if they want to.
