NJA PIC/SIC/Dual for military
Can any multi-crew military guys help me out on this? Not sure if I'm making the right assumptions converting my Navy time for the Flight Time Worksheet on the NJA application:
PIC = Aircraft Commander time (first pilot + copilot). No "non-flying" special crew aircraft commander time included as stated in the app.
SIC = First pilot + copilot for every non-aircraft commander flight after first copilot NATOPS qualification in model.
Dual Received = First pilot + copilot unqualified student time (T-34/44, FRS).
Also wondering what do I then put down on page 5 for First Officer/Copilot total time. Would that be all of my non-aircraft commander qualified/unqualified first pilot and copilot time?
I think I have a fairly good handle on converting PIC and SIC per Part 61, just don't know how to handle my student time and what is the exact definition of "dual received".

I don't know if this will answer your question but its what I did. For any aircraft I flew that required two pilots I logged SIC if I wasn't the aircraft commander during flight. I did not include any other time. Thats what the Air Force calls time during the flight that you were a third pilot not in a seat. For time in the T-37 or T-6 that I was not acting as an IP or aircraft commander I logged as dual since these airplanes only require one pilot. Hope this helps.

For PIC, I used my Instructor hours plus 90% of my MP time (figuring I was the "in command" at least 90% of the tim). For SIC, I took my total time in that aircraft minus PIC and other time. I got this technique from other military heavy drivers. Also, APC has some mil to civ excel spreadsheets in their downloads section that might help.

Hey rockeye,
If you flew any tandem seat aircraft, like the T-34C, then you can not log SIC. I called and asked the feds on this. So the T-34C, T-2, and T-45 you can not log as SIC because all of those were single piloted aircraft even if there were two pilots in the aircraft. Remember our OPNAV app mins, 200 1/2 and no lower because of the single pilot thing. You can log that time as dual received or total time. This being said, I do know guys who still logged it as SIC and nothing was said. I think the employers know what we mean. Hope this helps.
