Yes, I'd put in bold "Willing to relocate".
Training contract:
Yeah, back in the day guys would take the job here to wait for a call somewhere else. I don't think it's as big a problem now but the contract remains none the less. I can see the company's problem with shelling out the cash only for you to leave in a week after NetJets calls you.
401K match:
Yes, it's very low. When the company financials turn around that will be addressed. From all I hear the numbers are looking much better so hopefully the 401K will go up sooner than later.
Bases:
Above info is not old. That is the expanded gateway list. I got it out of a current manual. With that said there may be a few additions / subtractions made in the past month or so.
There is a PAC (pilot advisory committee) of 5 line pilots. I've not heard ANY union talk. The PAC works well and the company takes them seriously. I imagine they know that if they don't then the union talk will start up.

what next?
Too many Avantair threads to choose from to post on, but trying to stay away from the "bankruptcy" one.
I'm looking at making Avantair my next goal in aviation. Currently, I'm disabled due to an accident (reckless pickup took me out on my motorcycle) and have loads of time for research. Avantair looks like a stable company and the relative economy of the Avanti leads me to believe they have a fair chance of going the distance in this industry. And it doesn't hurt that I love that airplane!
I'm not flying now and it may be several months to a year before I can get back into a cockpit full time, so I know I might have to go back and do some instructing or pipeline patrol again to build up recent time. But so far I've logged 1670TT and 500ME. After getting some recent time, what would be the best next step? I don't have any turbine time and know I'll need more multi to be competitive, so what could be some options?
I've read somewhere that Avantair wants "high-speed turboprop" or jet time. Is this true? A couple options I've looked at are flying Grand Canyon tours or a few years with Seaborne in the Caribbean. I think it would possible to get on with both of these with relatively low times, but would flying a Twin Otter be a bad move? I wouldn't want to spend a few years racking up time that would effectively be useless for what I want to do.
Any info, insight, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

On a bright note, it seems to be busier than I thought it would be for January.

Hi Sharkbait,
I've been flying in Europe for the last couple of years and I'm considering a return to the States. The information on the web about Avantair is a bit confusing. Some of it is very positive and some is just the opposite. Looking at the financials, their loss has decreased, but unfortunately so has their cash position.
Can you shed any light on this?
Thanks,
Jim

I did a phone interview with them in 2007. When they learned my 1000+ hours of turbo prop was in BE99 and C208, it ended.
I wound up at Flexjet. I think I got the better of that deal.

We aren't hiring right now, but may be in the coming months. everything is going relatively smooth now. If I'm not mistaken, taking delivery of 53rd P180 next week some time. That will make 3 in last two months. With the poor economy, that says a lot. Been getting A LOT of interest from owners that are/were at the "big 4" especially FltOps.
