A pilot who bids over to NJI must have at least 5000 hours and meet certain other requirements. In fact, the only advantage of being a NJA pilot is that one does not have to have a Gulfstream rating.

mooney,
just to make sure its clear, when a NJA pilot bids over to NJI, they start over at year 1 class 4 pay, not back to a new hire pay scale off the street.
A NJA pilot bidding over to NJI starts at a base salary of 120,000. Just as they would when a NJA pilot bids to a class 4 airplane on NJA property (2000ex) year 1 base pay in class 4. 120,000

The one guy I know who bid over, is making slighly better money as a Category 4 FO at NJI than as a captain in his third year at NJA.
The bad news...he was told it could be about 10 years to captain.

3rd year CA class 1 at NJA is base of 71,000 and 5 year class 1 CA is a base of 90,000. I don't know how he could be doing better with these figures from the contract.
