Those of you with type ratings in very marketable airplanes like G450/550, CL30, Falcon 2000EZ, why don't you quit and get a new job? There are lots of jobs out there, and if you're willing to do expat stuff, lots of money to be made. I know a guy that is going to make $200k this year doing CL30 contract flying, and with US based companies. He could add another $75k to that if he was willing to do longer term contracts in Asia.

Coming from you, this reminds me of LBJ saying "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost Middle America."
727C47 has been one of the most level headed guys here and on the union board. He's not one of the guys screaming for the moon or he's voting no.
I hope the union has a plan for this TA being voted down, because if they've lost 727C47, they've lost the average line pilot.

I am a NJ new hire (3/15), and know exactly what I signed up for, but was hopeful that things were in an upswing. The reality with this TA is a long way to go for me to make $100K salary (8 years) on the 7/7 schedule. JetBlue FO can do that probably by year3.
Because of where I live, and the fact that I am 51 years old, NJ is where I want to be, just like (sadly) Avantair was for me. But, I was tickling 6-figures salary there by year 6, and had it by year 7.
amaineiac, where are you from? Wonder if I know you up here, being that Maine is one big small town! Jeezum

Year 3 JB F/O would clear six figures easily. Previous guy mentioned a Year 10 JB CA clearing 170k...good friend of mine is a year 10 E190 CA and cleared 215k LAST year working 15 days a month. A A320 driver would obviously clear more. FWIW
Clearing a very disappointing TA but I find it very hard to believe you guys could ever hope to clear legacy pay in TODAYS bargaining cycle....not a dig just reality.

I didn't really expect "Legacy" pay necessarily, and I don't really think of JetBlue as a "Legacy" either.
Sorry to all I may have offended with one sentence.

As mostly a lurker, and not a poster, I agree with you here. Been watching his posts and they've always been very positive, and this is a good representation of the current mood here.

A big difference to consider is that upgrade times at JB and Spirit, for example, are currently 4-5 years. So, you are on Captain pay earlier if you are flexible with bases.... Not saying that is the case with everyone - especially since JB doesn't have many bases on the West Coast (only one in LGB that is super senior). So, just a consideration - if you live near JFK or BOS you can probably count on Capt pay sooner with JB.
The legacy carriers have much longer upgrade times, but you get paid a lot in just a few years IF you are open to flying a lot. I just spoke with a 3rd year Delta MD88 FO who grossed $150K last year because of ample open time and a willingness to fly a lot - but not everyone wants to fly a lot....

Sorry I wasn't implying that JBU is a legacy. It certainly is not. The consensus seemed to be that netjet was going/hoping for a legacy type contract. I just meant to say I could just never envision a TA that even remotely reaches that level of broad compensation for the ENTIRE group not just a select top end jobs at the extreme end of the seniority list.
