This will basically come down to the guys who planned ahead, lived within their means, and are willing to hold out for as long as it takes to get a truly industry standard contract vs. those living paycheck to paycheck who will jump at the first scrap the company throws their way. I truly hope the former outnumber the latter.

5 straight minimum per duty period means each duty period is worth a minimum of 5 in and of itself.
For example...
Take a 4-day trip with 3 duty periods...
Day 1 = 3 hours of flying
Day 2 = Hotel appreciation
Day 3 = 8 hours of flying
Day 4 = 6 hours of flying
Rig aside, under an average duty period this trip will pay 17 hours (straight block basically).
If not average you’d still get 5 hours credit for day 1 even though you only work 3. That would pay 19 hours.
We don’t have an average calendar day but it we had a 5 hour average calendar day it would pay 20 hours.

5 hour average FDP would only be worth a minimum of 5 times the number of duty periods (or 1:3.5 trip rig, whichever is greater).

I'm no trust fund baby but I've lived somewhere between a 1st year and 2nd year FO for the purpose of being prepared. It sure will be nice when we get a raise as I have no reason to have a more expensive lifestyle, life will get easier real quick. I've mentioned the time value of money in a previous post before the AIP was released to clarify that even something a little sub par could still be worth passing based on how long it could take to negotiate improvements. This AIP is too far behind thus the improvements we deserve are by far worth waiting for. Your personal poor financial planning is not everyone else's problem, but you are making it that way. But what else would you expect from an individual who is butt hurt? Not butt hurt about being bent over by management for years, but rather that your peers don't understand why you are entitled to take money away from their families because you can't manage your own.

Although that would be ironic, much like having a username like yours and voting yes to this, none of that matters now though.
